California High School Exit Exam A state exam that is mandatory to
graduate high school Tests concepts students have
learned in Jr. High and High School. Once students pass the exam,
they have fulfilled the requirement

When is the Exam?
Our Goals:
1. To properly prepare and support every student for the exam
2. For every student to pass the first time
3. For students to test as proficient or higher (380+)
4. To make prep fun!
Preparation Goals
Each student will receive prep for the CAHSEE
in both ELA and Math Students will take a simulated standards test
so we can tailor prep to YOUR student’s needs Students will work on their individual prep
beginning December 8th Official prep classes will run January 5th-30th Students will receive 5.0 credits for each prep
class if they attend and participate fully
Prep Classes
Classes are mandatory Attendance at the prep classes are
considered a regular appointment Grades will be Pass/Fail and given to the
AR teacher as the work for the month Consequences for missing a class and not
completing work are the same as with your AR teacher
Prep Class Guidelines
To receive the full 5 credits each student must:1. Attend EVERY class2. Be on time! 3. Follow all regular school site rules4. Complete work on time5. Pass all unit tests 6. Participate in class discussions7. Attend the 2 scheduled practices CAHSEE tests8. Show up to the CAHSEE exam
Prep Class Requirements
Each student will sign up to be on a
Team with a Coach for CaHSEE Prep in addition to the SGI teacher and their
AR teacher. We are all here to support students to do what it takes to pass
the CaHSEE in February.

Participating in Prep Classes twice a week is not
sufficient to pass the exam! Here are some ideas that students should do to
properly prepare for the test:1. Come to EVERY Prep Class2. Study at least three hours every day at home3. Complete practice tests4. Complete all homework5. Sleep well and eat well the day of the exam6. Believe in yourself!7. Practice test taking strategies8. Ask for help right away when you need it.
