Public Mass Guidelines for St. Leo the Great Church
We are planning to begin public Masses the weekend of May 30/31.
Daily Masses will resume June 1st. All Mass times will remain the same.
Please remember that at this time, the obligation to attend Sunday
Mass is still dispensed by our Archbishop. If you do not feel
comfortable attending a larger gathering, or if you are not feeling
well, please stay home. We will continue to record our Mass and it will
be available on facebook and our website. These public Masses are
allowed with the understanding that we will be maintaining social
distancing.
To maintain the safety of everyone who comes to Mass at our parish, we’re implementing the
following measures:
1. Due to Douglas County still having cases of the virus, we are asking everyone to wear a mask when
you come to Mass. Please bring your own or if you do not have one, we will have disposables here for
you. We will have hand sanitizer available. You can use it before Mass and after. You can bring your
own, too.
2. Every other pew will be roped off so we can maintain the 6 feet social distance.
3. Families are welcome to sit together but must leave 6 feet between them and the closest family.
4. Please try and come to Church a little early so we can make sure all are seated with enough space
between people.
5. We will not be using gift bearers or altar servers.
6. There will be no passing of the collection baskets. We will have large baskets on the tables in the
social hall and commons for you to drop off your gift. There will be no children’s collection during Mass.
7. There will be no sign of peace and no distribution of the Precious Blood.
8. All will be asked to receive communion on the hand. When I give communion on the tongue, I can feel
the person breathe on my hand. This will cause droplets and could spread the virus to others.
9. We have removed all songbooks and missalettes. The cantor will do all singing. We will have no
congregational singing. Not all Masses will have music.
10. Our Eucharistic Ministers will wear a mask as will I during communion.
11. During communion please leave 6 feet from the person in front of you. The center aisle will only have
one line. We will begin with the left side first.
12. People attending Mass are asked not to stay and socialize in the Church building. No gathering in
the social hall or commons. You are welcome to visit outside.
13. Church will be sanitized after every Mass.
14. Confessions will resume on Saturdays from 3:30-4:30, beginning May 30th. We will move confession
to classroom E5 on the east end of the church. We will have signs directing you.
Blessings to you all.

Memorial Day Prayer
Dear God,
On this day we remember the sacrifices made
for us
by those who were willing to give their lives
to ensure that our own would be spent in
freedom.
Let us never forget to pray, not only for the
dead, but also for those still living and working
in the cause of freedom around the world.
As we celebrate and enjoy this time, give com-
fort and grace to those men and
women who have sacrificed so much for our
sake. St. Martin, St. George and St. Joan of
Arc: pray for the protection of our soldiers in
their efforts, and bring them home safely at the
end of their duties wherever that home may be.
+Amen.

In Pursuit of Life, Love and
Happiness
By: Deacon Jim Shipman
In today’s Gospel we begin read-
ing Chapter 17 of John. This en-
tire chapter gives us an example
of Our Savior praying to His heav-
enly Father and gives us good ex-
amples for our prayer life.
Even the Son of God needed to
pray because as a human being,
He needed personal time with His
heavenly Father to direct His minis-
try and strengthen Him against the
evil one.
Jesus begins His prayer asking His
Father to return to His former Glo-
ry and gives us the reason He
came to earth. Jesus said, “Give
glory to your son, so that your son
may glorify you, just as you gave
him authority over all people, so
that your son may give eternal life
to all you gave him.” Now in our
prayer we must give Glory to God
and ask Him to help us glorify Him.
Our prayer must profess our faith
in God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Also we must thank Our Lord for
the gift of Eternal Life.
Jesus also gives thanks to the Fa-
ther for His Disciples and for us,
that we may be one with Him. Our
prayer should ask that we may be
in union with Him. He also prays
for the disciples and us for protec-
tion from the world that does not
believe in Him. Our prayers need
to include intersessions for Divine
Protection from evil and for His
Grace and Mercy for ourselves
and family.
Gospel of John Chapter 17 is the
farewell address of Jesus to His
Disciples and us. Read it and
learn how Jesus prays for us each
minute of our life. Then sit down
and talk to our Lord in your
prayer.

Driver Needed for Francis House
3rd Monday Delivery
We are in need of a driver to take our monthly food donations to the
Siena Francis House on the 3rd Monday of every month. It is helpful to
have a larger vehicle. You would be responsible for loading the food
from the freezers here at St. Leo and driving it down to the Siena Francis
House dock. They have volunteers to help unload there. If you are
interested, please contact the parish office, 402-397-0407 or
Our Pantry Is Running Low on Soup
We are in need of soup for our pantry. If you can drop off a
few cans, we would appreciate it. At this time, we cannot accept
cream of mushroom or cream of chicken or chicken broth. We
need ready to eat soup. Thanks so much!
~ Praying For Vocations ~
The whole liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic sacri-
fice and the sacraments. ( Catechism of the Catholic Church ). Our Church
relies on the ministerial priesthood for the life of the faith community. Pray
for an increase of laborers for our church and for the health and
well-being of those who serve us.
