GPRS RELIABILITY AND APPLICATION LEVELS

• GPRS application packed and iPSec encrypted• Different message priority levels

– Payment transaction 100 % by applications– Important broadcasts 3 times sent– Less important only one sending

• GPRS reliability figures– GSM/GPRS network loses app. 2% of messages– Testfigure of 2 weeks (as example);

• Sent 136 000 messages• Two resets, meaning loss of network contact

• Coverage practically 100%

GPRS NETWORKRELIABILITY AND COVERAGE

• Example of– New Initialisation

into GPRS network

– Coverage during 2 weeks test

SUMMARY

• GPRS is suitable for online FCD gathering, and distribution, but needs tailored solution

• GPRS coverage is very good

• Data consumption can be handeled by using Green Box type zone solutions

• Project will end in September, and then there will be data from Green Box cars to compare with roadside FCD cameras.
