Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, May the stillness, the simplicity, the sacred, and the supernatural stirrings of that first Christmas revisit, reawaken, and renew the reality that they remain with us. Who are they? They are the angels, the shepherds, the beasts of the earth, the kings, the magi, and the wise men. They are the Blessed Virgin Mary and the holy man Joseph. From the sacred womb of the Holy Virgin unto us is born the Savior of the world. To Him all knees must bend. In Him all nations will be judged. He is Emmanuel, that is, God with us. Our peace and tranquility are not disturbed if to Him, first and foremost, all is rendered. All eyes turn to Him. All knees bend at His name. Unto His own He came, but His own did not receive Him because they did not recognize Him. And to the few who did, He was light to dispel the darkness. He was bread that they not collapse. He was the door through which they’d find rest. He was the water and blood to satiate their thirst and wash them clean. He was the shepherd to show them the way and the truth to set them free. He was their life and their hope. In Him they found peace. And as it was, so it is. So it is, but not to those enslaved by power, prestige, and pleasure nor to those who choose first the creature over the Creator. But to the humble who still believe in miracles and marvel at the wonder of it all - to those who find in that Holy Night the in-breaking of God into history and receive Him from the arms and heart of the Holy Mother - to them life is forever changed. The Christmas Mystery is the beginning of the fulfillment of prophetic history ushering in the Messianic Age of redemption. The humble believers, disposed and receptive, were drawn into a story that confounded the wise of the world in their time and continue to confound the wise of the world in ours. God has graced us with the call to unite with the angels and saints of that Holy Night. In the sacred silence of sanctuary, away from the noise of the world, in humility, we humbly do Him homage. From Him we learn truth and from His truth we live, not to gain the approval of this world, but to enjoy favor from Heaven. From His birth to His baptism, from Mount Tabor to the Mount of Golgotha, we are renewed and restored when hearkened from heaven our ears awakened, we hear, “This is my beloved Son in whom my favor rests. Listen to Him.” We adore. We listen. And so we live. Thus, the favor of God rests on us and through us He lives forevermore. The renewal and reform of the Church, in our age as in past ages, will become a reality only when, like the Ancients of Old, our eyes turn to Him and at His name we bend our knees. May this Christmas reawaken us to the name above all other names – Jesus – Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace! A Blessed and Merry Christmas,

Estimados Hermanos y Hermanas, Que la calma, la sencillez, lo sagrado, y las emociones sobrenaturales de esa primera Navidad nos lleguen de nuevo, nos despierten de nuevo, y renueven la realidad de que ellos permanecen con nosotros. ¡Quién son ellos? Ellos son los ángeles, los pastores, las bestias de la tierra, los reyes, los reyes magos, y los hombres sabios. Son la Santísima Virgen María, y el hombre San José. Desde del vientre sagrado de la Santísima Virgen nace ante nosotros el Salvador del mundo. Ante Él todos deben doblar rodilla. En Él todas las naciones son juzgadas. Él es Emmanuel, o sea, Dios con nosotros. Nuestra paz y tranquilidad no serán perturbadas si a Él todo se le entrega, primero y primordialmente. Todas las miradas son puestas en Él. Toda rodilla se dobla ante Su nombre. Él vino ante los Suyos, pero los suyos no lo recibieron porque no lo reconocieron. Y a los pocos que, sí lo reconocieron, Él fue la luz que disipó la obscuridad. Él fue el pan para que no cayeran. Él fue la puerta por la cual encontrarían descanso. Él fue el agua y sangre para saciar su sed y para limpiarlos. Él fue el pastor que les enseñó el camino y la verdad para liberarlos. Él fue la vida y la esperanza para ellos. En Él encontraron la paz. Así como lo fue, así lo será. Así será, pero no para aquellos que están esclavizados por el poder, el prestigio, y el placer, ni para aquellos que escogen primero lo creado sobre el Creador. Pero para los humildes quienes aún creen en los Milagros y son asombrados por la maravilla de todo – para aquellos que encuentran en esa Noche Santa la llegada de Dios en la historia y lo reciben desde los brazos de la Santa Madre – para ellos la vida es transformada para siempre. El Misterio Navideño es el comienzo del complimiento de la historia profética trayendo la redención de la Era Mesiánica. Los creyentes humildes, dispuestos y abiertos, fueron llamados a una historia que confunde a los sabios del mundo en su tiempo y continúan a confundir a los sabios de nuestro mundo. Dios nos ha graciado con el llamado en unión con los ángeles y los santos de esa Noche Santa. En el silencio sagrado del santuario, lejos del bullicio del mundo, en humildad, le brindamos culto con humildad. Aprendemos de Él la verdad y de Su verdad vivimos, no para darle gusto al mundo, sino para gozar del favor del Cielo. Desde Su nacimiento hasta Su bautismo, desde el Monte Tabor hacia el Monte Gólgota, somos renovados y restaurados cuando el llamado del cielo despierta nuestros oídos, escuchamos, “Este es mi Hijo amado en quien estoy orgulloso. Escúchenlo.” Lo adoramos. Y por lo tanto vivimos. Por lo tanto, el favor de Dios cae sobre nosotros y por medio de nosotros Él vive para siempre. La renovación y reforma de la Iglesia, en nuestro tiempo y en los tiempos pasados, se convertirá en una realidad solamente cuando, como nuestros Antepasados, nuestros ojos se enfocan en Él y ante Su nombre doblamos rodillas. ¡Que esta Navidad nos despierte de nuevo ante el nombre sobro todos los nombres – Jesús – Maravilla – Consejero, Dios-Héroe, Por Siempre-Padre, Príncipe de la Paz! Una Feliz Navidad llena de Bendiciones,
