This Term is running out and final assessment tasks need to be submitted at due dates. Teachers are busy writing reports for all our students and I hope that every student has produced work to their potential and will receive the report they deserve.

We will be organising parent interviews early next term to

discuss student outcomes with every parent and to plan a way forward to improve on what they have achieved. It is of vital importance that parents attend the parent interviews. Parents will be booked into preferable timeslots to attend the parent interviews on the night (Andrew McIlwraith LSO Liaison will organise the bookings).

Let the coming long weekend not just be a lovely holiday but remember the Christian relevance of East-er. Let us celebrate Easter keeping in mind that it is not about Easter bunnies, chocolates and gifts BUT it is Our Saviour Jesus who died on the Cross for us so we can be saved. Praise the Lord!

If there was ever a day that gives us hope, it is Resurrection Sunday! In fact ...that's why the church gathers week by week on Sunday, the Lord's Day for worship. We gather to celebrate and commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! In fact, every Sunday is a celebration of the Empty Tomb! A celebration that Jesus is Alive! It's the empty tomb of Jesus that gives us HOPE! Hope in the here-and-now!

The HOPE of forgiveness. The HOPE of peace. The HOPE of assurance. The HOPE of Heaven. And that HOPE is centered in the person of Jesus.

Nuts of all forms, and products containing nuts as an ingredient are to be avoided for snacks, lunches and cooking activities. When a staff member becomes aware that a student has brought a product containing nuts from home

the food will be removed and placed in a safe place so that it can be returned to parents/guardians at the end of the session

As it is sometimes difficult to determine whether a food product brought from home contains nuts (such as food stir-fried in peanut oil) information about the Crossways Lutheran School nut minimisation policy will be provided at the time of enrolment.

Here we are in Week 8 of Term 1! With so many activities and events taking place this term, Week 8 has definitely come around quickly! In Year 3-4 we have been busy with many inquiry-based lessons, which has encouraged and supported students to learn through hands-on activities. Students are to be congratulated on collaborating so well together as a team for various lessons, es-pecially Science and Design Technologies. During these lessons, groups of students have shown maturity and respect for one another, where they have guided and supported each other to design and create marble runs, as well as helping one another to investigate what plants and seeds need in order to grow as part of our Science inquiries.

Students have also continued to show their respect and dedica-tion in Christian Studies, where they have been producing some amazing artwork to show what Jesus means to them and to spread the message of love and peace throughout the world.

The Year 3-4’s have also welcomed some new students into our class, which now sees us having 26 students in total! On behalf of the Year 3-4 class, and myself we welcome you into our school and hope you enjoy your time here as part of the Crossways Family.

This term in HASS the 5/6 class has been looking at colonial Aus-tralian history. As part of their learning experience students visit-ed the Ceduna Museum to see how European colonists may have lived. Students took photographs of what they saw and kept a record of their observations and will be using their photographs to produce an assessment task in History class.

As part of Geography and systems in unplugged Digital Technolo-gies, the 7/8 class were asked to design and create a water cycle. They could choose any method but their final product had to clearly show the system of a water cycle. Overall students worked well to design and create their water cycle systems!

• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

• 400 grams of dark chocolate, chopped

• 120 grams of milk chocolate

• 150 grams of pretzel sticks, broken into pieces

• 100 grams of shredded wheat, crushed

• 100 grams of chocolate-covered raisins

• 100 grams of salted peanuts

• Chocolate eggs, to serve

How To:

1. In a saucepan, heat the butter and golden syrup. 2. Then add chocolate and vanilla extract to it. Keep

stirring continuously. 3. Remove from the heat and add the pretzel sticks,

chocolate covered raisins, peanuts, and shredded wheat.
