NEWSLETTER DEVELOPMENT DUE TO KICK OFF The area of land we will now have moving forward has changed however we will sll secure the same amount of land on which to develop, which will now be situated between us and the NFA. The allocated area will be made into pitches and the work is due to kick off this spring. Teams should be able to play on the new pitches by the end of the next season however we may be able to gain access and use the area for training purposes earlier than that and the new pitches will be in acon by 2021. Club Vice Chairman James Sharp said: “Receiving these lease documents and having everything finalised with the Duchy is a significant stage in the process of our developments of the club. “It provides stability for the club, demonstrates commitment from the Duchy to a grass roots football club and we have long been seen as their flagship club. It also allows us now commercially go forward with the clubhouse build and secure the capital from corporaons and the Football Foundaon. “This was not possible previously unl we secured a lease that lasted over 25 years. It is a cause for celebraon and allows us to take our development plans for the club to the next stage. We will be going out and looking for investors so would urge anyone who would like to support the club to get in touch. We need to raise as much money as we can and would welcome investments big and small because we have to find a lot of the funding ourselves in conjuncon with organisaons like the Football Foundaon.” Sourcing support commercially is a key focus for the club currently and we are appealing for donaons to support our build which will cost in the region of up to £800,000. Once we secure the necessary funding we will stage a dinner and invite key benefactors and also plan to put up plaques commemorang donaons to the club project at the new clubhouse once the build is complete. You can also help us achieve our fundraising targets as the club commiee will be discussing proposals to raise some of our fees with all the extra money going to the development project. We were inundated at our Christmas party which is held every year for our younger players. The party was full to capacity and the children enjoyed all the festive fun plus the visit from Father Christmas who handed out presents to everyone who attended. There was music and games for the youngsters to enjoy at the party which was again held again at Higham Working Men’s Club. FESTIVE FUN DIARY DATES Here is a selection of our latest team photos. TOP TEAMS HIGHAMTOWNCOLTSFC.CO.UK 6th JUNE CROYLAND CUP SUMMER TOURNAMENT MAKING A SPLASH Our annual Presentaon Day will this year take place on 6th June, 2020 where we will honour players and coaches. There will be entertainment and official club sponsor Croyland Car Megastore will again be supporng this event. They will assist with making presentaons and a special Croyland Recognion Award will be presented for the first me to recognise special achievements within the club. Don’t miss this year’s annual summer tournament which will take place on the weekend of 11th and 12th of July, 2020. This popular event is for current season under 10s and under 11s players. It is cross county and we invite players from other counes. This will help money for the clubhouse project and hope again to raise in the region of £2,500. 11th JULY 12th JULY HIGHAMTOWNCOLTSFC.CO.UK Severe and wet weather condions have hampered our opportunies to play so far this season and we know how important it is to focus on team bonding and morale. A lot of games and training has been affected and we connue to do our best to minimise the disrupon by ulising the offsite training opportunies at the 3G pitch at The Ferrers School, which is another investment by the club to support its players. Official Club sponsor Croyland Car Megastore has also stepped in to help fund some fun events for our players Croyland booked an inflatable and flume party at Rushden Splash swimming pool. Mark Swindells, General Manager at Croyland said: “With all the recent match cancellaons due to poor weather we wanted to treat the teams to a pool party. We know how important teamwork is and seeing your teammates is a big part of that.” There are plans to put on more events for players to enjoy.
