LEAGUE C1F NATIONS No.. 6398 May 9th, 1933, L The Advisory Committee instructed to follow the diqute between 6~]oubis wd Fern met this afternaon under the chEir- manship of m, T3iSFE!R (Irish Free State) and in the presence of M. MORESCO (Netherlands) end M. ZUMETA (Venezuela). M. MORESCO informed the Committee that yesterday porning a cruiser and two Peruvian submarines reached the port of Curacao and asked for supplies. Trre Grjvernor of the Colony, considering that he was dealing with e case of vessels in distress, ruthorized them to remain within the harbour %r eight hours. The Committee egreed upon the terms of connhunieation which, inconformity with its decision of the previous day, it hcd esked its Presidat to sddress to the representative of Peru. The Committee, referring to the report adopted Oy.,$he Council on Mach 18th and to the request addresqed by the Government of Peru to certain states for fecilities to be 'accorded to ite war vessels, noted that, in order to reach Iquitos, etated to be their destination, these vessels must pass to the south of the Leticia quadrilateral, whose evacuction by the Peruvian forces had been recommended by the Cauncil. The Committee considered that in these circumstances, it was highly desirable that Peru should abstain from sending these vessels towards the Amezon. The Committee " ' ' ' thought thct it was its duty in any event, before expressing a- final opinion on the attitude to be abserved by the states towards these vessels, to escertain thct their presence in the hazon would not be caluclated to prejudice the executionor delay the application of the recommendations of the Council. . The Committee, pending the reply of Peru, confirmed its opinion thct it was desirable thct facilities for.the vi.Dtuall_ing 3r equipment of these vessels should not be grented. The reply of the Calombian Gavernment to the request for information mede on c previous day was announced. It will be considered by the Committee r.tymeeting to be held tomorrow.
