OUR HISTORY

Victor Constant is conveniently located just outside the gates of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. This gem of an area has been a cherished traditional source of recreation for military families and the surrounding community for 80 years!

In 1936, skiing was first attempted at West Point on a primitive ski slide at Delafield Pond. Three years later, the first trail was cut through the woods at Silver Deposit Hill, later named Victor Constant Ski Slope after Army Captain Victor Constant, who was instrumental in developing skiing at West Point.

During the 1940’s several ski runs were cut & the first rope tow was added. A rustic log cabin with a warming stove was built, & the ski club and ski patrol were formed.

Victor Constant operates annually from December to March, weather permitting.

ARMY’S OLDEST SKI AREA

*Child considered ages 4-13.

Children MUST be able to take care of their own personal needs (potty trained). All patrons are required to wear a snow pass visible to staff at all times. Additional ID may be requested. No outside food permitted.

Snow Sport School

The West Point Winter Sports School offers dynamic group style lessons for adults and children. Group lessons are a fun way to learn to ski or ride in a low-stress, cooperative setting.
