“I run to school, steal food, return to “The House” and am force to throw up in the toilet bowl to prove that I didn’t commit the crime of stealing any food” (Pelzer 3).

This scene is exciting and important. In this scene David and his mother went to court. The final decision is made where David was going to belong to the court.

I selected this scene to describe because its very important. It’s the point in his life where he finally escapes his mother and his life changes.

“Eight o’ clock came and went, as did more than a dozen cars that cruised by. As every car drove up the street” (Pelzer 145).

This scene is important because it shows no matter what happens he still cares about his father.

This story reminds me of real world situations

They are connected because there are children in the world who get beaten, abused, and some may end up confused moving through out their life in foster homes.

Someone should read this book because its suspenseful and it’s a sad story.

This is a story that will keep you reading from the first page till the end.

This is a story of a boy who was terribly abused by his mother and finally escapes. Yet he searches for a home he can call his own.
