In 1996, The University of New Mexico piloted a new process to assist with academic advisement. UNM invested in a Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) that was developed at Miami University of Ohio. Based on this software, UNM developed ePROGRESS – as of February 2010 the degree audit team upgraded this system to the Interactive Audit that is now – LOBO Trax

LOBO Trax is NOTNOT a transcript. It is an internal document that is not intended to report student achievement to outside parties.

LOBO Trax does NOTNOT replace written information; such as the University catalog, degree program fliers, and other handouts that explain programs and their procedures.

LOBOTrax does NOTNOT replace advising – the goal is to help make advising a more meaningful interaction between advisor and student.

The degree audit team is the main contact for Advisors, Colleges, Departments, & students when they have questions or concerns regarding the progress report.

The degree audit team updates all degree programs, and is responsible for updating the different tables in DARwin/Banner that are used by the University.

Currently, the degree audit team processes all academic exceptions for all colleges, this includes exceptions to the UNM Core, College Requirements, and Degree Programs.

LOBO Trax is used for graduation, by checking that pending graduates have met all of the University requirements.
