Dimboola Primary School is a Child-Safe School

GRADE 5/6 CAMP:

I was greeted with many stories about the

wonderful time the Grade 5/6 children had

whilst on camp. Stories of being able to stand

on a surfboard or of having difficulties in

manoeuvring a kayak and ending up under

low hanging branches were plentiful. Camps

are very special times with memories that are

made and kept for the rest of your life. I still

remember going to many great camps when I

was at school, which is an eternity ago!

Thanks once again to Ms Whyte, Miss

Coustley, Mr Revell, Mrs Bouts and Mr

Bolwell for the great care they took of the

students.

YEAR 6 TO 7 TRANSITION:

Students in Year 6 attended Dimboola

Memorial Secondary College on Wednesday.

The students were accompanied by Miss

Coustley and Mrs Bouts. On arrival they were

met by some familiar faces from Year 7

students and they were taken on a tour of the

secondary facilities. Following this they learnt

about aspects of schooling at DMSC. Their

next visit will be a full day visit on the 9th

November.

YEAR 6 TO 7 TRANSITION CONTINUED:

Thanks to Marcia Britten for hosting our wonderful students. I know the school seemed an

empty place in their absence.

Year 6 Students prepare to attend DMSC on Wednesday.

KINDER TRANSITION:

We hosted six kinder students on Wednesday and another six on Thursday. This was a part

of the transition program for our new Prep students in 2017. I strongly encourage kinder

parents to get their enrolment forms completed at your earliest convenience. It is only

when these forms are filled in that we can be certain on our numbers, our class

compositions and our staffing. Please complete these forms as soon as possible.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS:

As Dimboola Primary School is working towards being a child safe school there is an

expectation that volunteers and parents who are working with children will have a current

Working With Children Check. This will apply for a range of activities including:

• Volunteering to drive students to sporting events

• Going on school camps

• Helping in the swimming program

• Attending sleep overs

For volunteers, getting a Working With Children Check is a very cheap exercise and it may

be used in a range of circumstances. The process is:

• Google Working with Children Check

• Fill in the form

• Have your photo taken at the post office and post off the form.

• Wait for the card to be returned

• Submit this at the school for a photocopy to be made.

This week in 1/2 Gove we have been

learning about money in Maths. We made

shops a week ago. We did it with the

Grade1/Preps. We had The Good Paddock,

KFC, IGA, café, book shop, Toyworld, pizza

shop and fruit shop. The preps and 1’s made

an ice-cream shop. We have been very

proud of our shops and we had to count it

up. I got in the thousands.

Buy toys and gifts to help fundraise for Dimboola Primary School

Fundraising catalogues from 3 different educational suppliers have been sent home with the eldest child from each family. In each of the catalogues you will

find toys suitable for all ages and interests including art and craft, games, puzzles, role play, science, sport, water toys and much more.

What a great way to find those different Christmas presents by scanning

through these catalogues, ordering and then have the items delivered to either school or your own addresses.

By ordering from these catalogues, 20 cents of every dollar will be

donated back to school.

The ordering is easy. Simply fill in the order forms which are inside each catalogue and return them to school. We will collate and send them off to each company. Delivery is prompt and by choosing delivery to school the

charges are lower.

We will finalise orders by Friday November 25th.

Thanks for helping us to fundraise and purchase more toys to play with outside.
