We will be asking for volunteers to help with the nominating committee soon. Please consider helping with this short term commitment to help us gather volunteers for our next term positions.
Timeline: Nominations of the Officers - March meeting. Voting in of the Officers - April meeting. Installation of the Officers - May meeting. The new Board assumes duties on June 1st.

Community Outreach at the library Weds, Feb 13th at 10:00 am. Bring your sewing machine and come to complete quilts.
Future dates: 3/13, 4/10, 5/8, 9/11, 10/9, 11/13 & 12/11.
We meet in the County Library the second Weds. of the month 10am—3pm to make projects to give to the elderly in rest homes, homeless children, and others in need. If you have some time to donate to this cause please join us. If you can’t spend the day or part, you could stop by, take something home to work on, or a simple donation from your stash or maybe you would like to just quilt one of our projects or do a binding……anything you can do to help out…. Community Outreach delivered 14 children’s quilts, 13 burp cloths, 24 walker bags, 13 child bibs, 9 fleece blankets, 31 adult bibs and aprons, and 37 adult quilts. CURRENT COUNT– 26 bibs, 3 baby blankets, 14 lap quilts, 2 fleece, 3 walker bags.

Hello, hope you are having a fabulous day! I would like to conduct a meeting at my house for all the New Members - a synopsis of what makes this team/membership click if you will.......... a new term is coming up and there will be lots of commit-tees to run, positions to fill.
We the current team would like to tell you all about us and the committees. It is essential that the en-tire group help out, Havasu Stitchers exists because of you and our volunteers - fresh new ideas keep the meetings and all the events we do a lot more fun.............

If you do sign up; make certain you bring the re-quired number. Don’t forget. Others are counting on you as one of the exchangers.
Please use the best quality of 100% cotton available. Make certain your cut is straight; not wavy or bowed.
Depending on the number that sign up; it may take as much as two yards of fabric. It is better to use all of the same fabric for your swap.
Turn them in at the beginning of the meeting to allow time to sort and then don’t forget to pick up your bag after the meeting. Listen at the meeting for the num-ber of strips.

FROM: 16. The chapter compensates members for teaching at the rate of $35.00 @ half day class (3 hours), and $65.00 @ full day class (6 hours) plus $5.00 per student attending. Members will pay current class fee; AQG members will pay current class fee plus $5.00; and non-members/guests may attend on a space available basis at a cost of $20.00. All fees are non-refundable.

February 26th it is a Tuesday More fun with Linda Visnaw and her “Trapunto” technique. Come learn and leave with a pretty pillow or whatever you fancy…we will be at the library Special time 10:30am to 4:00pm the cost is $5.00 ….
March 2nd Yes it is a Saturday for all the working gals…. Pat Knoechel will be here .The class will be at the quality Inn and lunch is served. The cost is $20.00…Pattern can be purchased for $7.00 from me. Picture attached

The Valley Quilters Guild presents their quilt show entitled, "Splendor in the Desert," at the Community Performing Arts Center, 1250 W. Continental Road, Green Valley, Arizona, on March 15 (10:00 to 5:00) and March 16 (10:00 to 4:00). There will be over 100 quilts on display, as well as a boutique, mini raffle, vendors, quilt appraiser and a chance to own the Opportunity Quilt. Contact information: www.vqgaz.com.

HAVASU STITCHERS GENERAL MEETING January 10, 2013 London Bridge Resort Convention Center
The abbreviated meeting, held at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center in conjunction with Quilting at the Lake, was called to order by the President, Roberta Simpkins at 6:34 pm.
No officer reports
Community Outreach – Held every second Wednesday of the month from 10 AM-3 PM at the library. A thank you letter was read.
Ways and Means – 50/50 Drawing with 3 winners
Hospitality: Sherri Ashford is hosting a “Long Arm Play” coffee in January Balloonfest – January 18th-21st, 2013 Judy Justus and Susan George need volunteers to work the booth. They will be sell-ing a variety of items and need additional items for sale.
Winterfest – February 9th-10th, Tina is handling the paperwork and has paid the deposit. Saturday and Sunday event.
Opportunity Quilts:
Bobye Jones has tickets for sale for the Quilt Show Opportunity Quilts “Under the Desert Stars” The Hopi Opportunity Quilt was on display - tickets are available from Linda Visnaw

QAL – All the teachers were introduced and their students were asked to display their new projects from class for the assembly – lots of “Oooohs and Ahhhh’s” were heard!
