FUNDAMENTAL
ANALYSIS
Fundamental analysis is the cornerstone of investing. In fact, some would say that you aren't really investing if you aren't performing fundamental analysis. Because the subject is so broad, however, it's not tough to know where to start. There are an endless number of investment strategies that are very different from each other, yet almost all use the fundamentals. For the national economy, fundamental analysis might focus on economic data to assess the present and future growth of the economy. Fundamentalists do not heed the advice of the random walkers and believe that markets are weak-form efficient. By believing that prices do not accurately reflect all available information, fundamental analysts look to capitalize on perceived price discrepancies.
INTRODUCTION
The Very Basics
When talking about currency, fundamental analysis is a technique that attempts to determine a security’s value by focusing on underlying factors that affect a country's actual business and its future prospects. On a broader scope, you can perform fundamental analysis on industries or the economy as a whole. The term simply refers to the analysis of the economic well-being of a financial entity as opposed to only its price movements
PURPOSE
Fundamental analysis serves to answer questions, such as:
Is the country’s revenue growing? Is it actually making a profit? Is it in a strong-enough position to beat out its competitors in the future? Is it able to repay its debts?
Fundamentals: Quantitative and Qualitative
Capable of being measured or
Expressed in numerical terms. Quantitative
Qualitative – related to or based on the quality or character of something, often as opposed to its size or quantity. Example:patents or proprietary technology.
Quantitative Meets Qualitative
Neither qualitative nor quantitative analysis is inherently better than the other. Instead, many analysts consider qualitative factors in conjunction with the hard, quantitative factors.
The Concept of Intrinsic Value
Before we get any further, we have to address the subject of intrinsic value. One of the primary assumptions of fundamental analysis is that the price on the forex market does not fully reflect a currency’s “real” value. After all, why would you be doing price analysis if the forex market were always correct? In financial jargon, this true value is known as the intrinsic value.
Strengths of Fundamental Analysis
Long-term TrendsFundamental analysis is good for long-term investments based on long-term trends, very long-term. The ability to identify and predict long-term economic, demographic, technological or consumer trends can benefit patient investors who pick the right industry groups or companies.
Value Spotting
Sound fundamental analysis will help identify currencies that represent a good value. Some of the most legendary investors think long-term and value. Graham and Dodd, Warren Buffett and John Neff are seen as the champions of value investing. Fundamental analysis can help uncover countries with valuable assets, a strong balance sheet, stable earnings, and staying power.
Weaknesses of Fundamental Analysis
Time Constraints
Fundamental analysis may offer excellent insights, but it can be extraordinarily time-consuming. Time-consuming models often produce valuations that are contradictory to the current price prevailing on Wall Street. When this happens, the analyst basically claims that the whole street has got it wrong. This is not to say that there are not misunderstood companies out there, but it is quite brash to imply that the market price, and hence Wall Street, is wrong.

Conclusion• Fundamental analysis can be valuable, but it
should be approached with caution. • If you are reading research written by a sell-side
analyst, it is important to be familiar with the analyst behind the report. (We all have personal biases, and every analyst has some sort of bias. )There is nothing wrong with this, and the research can still be of great value.
• Learn what the ratings mean and the track record of an analyst before jumping off the deep end. (Corporate statements and press releases offer good information, but they should be read with a healthy degree of skepticism to separate the facts from the spin.)
• Press releases don't happen by accident; they are an important PR tool for companies. Investors should become skilled readers to weed out the important information and ignore the hype.
Gold & Silver Bullion Trading
Gold is a precious mineral, just like crude oil. Precious, not only because it’s a noble metal and the high costs in producing, but also because of its varied usable applications; electronics, automotive, medical, etc. Is there enough gold left in our planet?
With the global economy in tatters and simmering tensions in Korea and the Middle East, gold is still very much on the radar of investors. The press has played a huge role in creating awareness of gold as a safe haven in these turbulent times.
A Simple Analysis Of Precious Metals :
Since the age of iron, the metals are known for their hardness, but also for their ductility being very easy to be processed in various shapes. Unfortunately, one of their defects is the fact that prolonged exposure to open air rusts them.
Silver Vs Dollar - Silver Price at a Crossroads
The returns that silver and gold investors have enjoyed over the last few years areenough to make anyone smile. Recently, both precious metals have broken upward resistance price levels and are looking to increase their gains in the short term.
Reasons for the Surge in Demand for Silver and Why Its a Good Investment
Silver is a rare precious metal, and due to recent economic turmoil, it is now extremely sought after due to it being a safe haven against a weakening dollar and growing inflation.
Gold Stays Steady
If we would have to choose a word that everybody on the planet have heard or known about that will be "Gold". Rich people use it to highlight their wealth, poor people to point out their poverty and intellectuals to express their contempt for the fascination these metals exercise on the soul.
People Still Prefer To Invest In Gold
Lately there is another trend on savings products market - investment in gold. More and more people willing to cover the risks of their savings are buying gold for securing the future. Despite crisis, value of gold has increased in the last period and the tendency continues. Investments in gold bullion bars seem to be the most recommended ones in difficult economical periods.
The Hedge Fund
Gold is widely regarded as a solid investment capable to offer protection against a multitude of risks such as market declines, banking failures, credit default and even political turmoil. One of the main reasons for such a widespread trust stems from the fact that this precious metal has been used for centuries as a means of exchange and as a universal currency.
Advice For Those Interested In Investing In Gold
The deterioration of the international economic status and the sharp reduction of rates at a global level have determined the shift of gold placement, which seems to become in times of crisis the safest savings instrument. On the other hand, it must be said that the domestic price increase is directly related to the evolution of the U.S. dollar, the reference currency on the international market.
Which Type Of Gold Investor Are You?
Ever since the business world exists, a wide spectrum of investor profiles has been tailored. In essence, all these profiles are very much depending on the way the investors act on the market. A special category of investors is represented by individuals who are trading gold.
The Best in Gold
Gold is a good investment as it is more stable than any other currencies in the world. You just need to explore different ways before you actually decide investing. Long time and well informed investors know that you can never go wrong in buying gold. In the end you will realize that this is the best investment you will ever make!
The Rush To Invest In Gold
Gold, gold, gold! You'd thing we were in a modern day Gold Rush with the amount of attention that is being focused on incorporating gold into your portfolio. Many money managers suggest putting 3% to 10% of a portfolio into gold, while some even advocate up to 20%! The rational is that gold provides insurance and protection against inflation, currency debasement and global uncertainty. Before you set your sights on the prospects of gold, you'll want to know some valuable little nuggets of information about the different ways to invest in gold.
Data courtesy of GFMS and World Gold Council. From the above picture, we can see that gold is being made available from 3 resources; sales from central banks, the traditional mine production and also from recycling. The most interesting resource is recycling. It has become an industry on its own. Electronics and electrical appliances and automotive components have gold elements in them. The fastest production car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron, has about a quarter kilogram of gold in its engine bay! No wonder it costs US$1.5 million.
One kilogram of gold takes about 150 years to be formed underground. Dead trees, humans and animals, that are buried are being compressed by the tremendous pressure from earth’s crust to form layers of gold over a long period of time. Incidentally, a human being weighing 70 kilogram has got about 3 grams of gold element.Based on the above, its heartening to note that gold will not suffer the same fate as crude oil, since its recyclable and mother nature helps to produce and preserve it for our next generation.
