Figure/Ground Figure/ Ground relationship project Art 1
Traditionally, there is a figure in every picture…
…and there is ground to hold them up.
The ground is the space around the figure.
What is the figure here?
If your focus is on the clouds, then they become the figure and EVERYTHING else becomes the ground.
Your task is to create an abstract/non-representational drawing where
EVERYTHING
is the figure AND the ground. It just depends what your looking at.
Is there a figure in this?
How will you do this?
First, you’ll generate some ideas.
Then divide your paper into 5 spaces.
So what do you do?-Work sheets for ideas-Divide you paper with active lines.-Some form of shading over 90% of you paper.-Fill out the grading rubric when complete.-Be creative!
