Do you ever find yourself with a lack of zeal for serving the Lord?

Do you ever leave an assembly of God’s people and find that you can’t remember what songs were sung or what was taught or what was prayed for?

Do you go days without studying God’s Word?

Do you find yourself getting as close as you can to the world so that you do not stand out as a Christian?

If you find that you are doing any of these things, could it be possible that you have: Gotten into a routine? Forgotten what God has done for you and the

great value of that? Allowed your love for God to slip?

This is a problem that the Israelites had during Isaiah’s time. Isaiah 1:10-15

Their worship was not pleasing to the Lord Their multiplied sacrifices meant nothing to Him He had enough of their burnt offerings He took no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or

goats Their offerings were worthless Incense was an abomination Their feasts were a burden to Him The Lord would not hear their prayers

This is a problem that the Israelites had during Isaiah’s time. Deuteronomy 30:15-16

Moses had given the Israelites instruction concerning their conduct even before they had entered the land.

To sum up his directions to the children of Israel, Moses tells them that they first of all had to love the Lord their God.

It was when they loved the Lord their God and kept His commandments and statutes that they would live and multiply and the Lord would bless them.

He had told them this previously in Deuteronomy 6:5-7

This is a problem that the Israelites had during Isaiah’s time. Isaiah 29:13

They said all the right things Their heart was not near to God

We, like Israel, have been told what is our foremost responsibility Matthew 22:34-40

The greatest commandment is that we love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind.

The second command is like to the first, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

This was the cornerstone for all the Law and the Prophets

We are to sing with thankfulness in our hearts to God

Does this sound like something that should be routine to us?

What we do when giving should not be done while thinking what we could do with the money if we were able to keep it.

We should not feel like it is something that we have to do.

It should be something that we feel privileged to do.

We should be glad to give, knowing what the money will be used for.

We need to compare our attitude to that of Moses He had a desire to be with God, to know God

and to please God. Do I have that same desire? Or do I have a checklist Christianity?
