COMMUNITIES GEAR UP FOR ‘ BAHRAIN FOR ALL’ FESTIVAL

Rehearsals are in full swing by community organisations performing in the ‘Bahrain For All’ 2018 festival, which will be held on 30th March at Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd. More than 55,000 people are expected to attend the event, with more than 45 embassies, clubs and organisations participating. These will include stage performances by Bahraini, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Balochi, Jordanian, Sudanese, Filipino, Ethiopian, Thai, Indonesian, Bangladeshi, and Egyptian artists, among others. The Chinese community, a group of artists from Kerala, and the UCO Parents centre from HIdd are performing for the first time this year.

DJ Outlaw and Flipperachie will also perform, with DJ Westside and comedian Waddah Swar emceeing the event. Special needs children from RIA Institute and Hidd Rehabilitation Centre will also put on a special show at the Bin Faqeeh children’s play area which includes face and henna painting, Arabic calligraphy, sports and a caricature artist, among other activities.

Tamkeen and the Arab International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Investment (AICEI) are the strategic partners of the 6th edition of the festival, which focuses on bridging gaps between

Bahrain’s communities. This year the emphasis is also on supporting local entrepreneurs, with over 250 market stalls dedicated to businesses, including 30 members of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s Productive Families programme.

‘Bahrain For All’ was first held in 2013, with coordination and support from the Court of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, receiving more than 50,000 visitors. Children with special needs, women’s groups, and senior citizens’ societies are invited every year to promote the festival’s message of unity.

This year’s event’s event has the support of the Ministry of the Interior, the Muharraq Governorate and the Muharraq Municipality and Municipal Council. New sponsors include National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and Oasis Mall. Previously announced sponsors are Manama Printing Press, BAPCO, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC), Bin Faqeeh, Dragon City, Aqua Cool, Mohammed Showaiter Sweets, Aquacool.

CONSULTNIVS: THE MAINSPRING OF 'BAHRAIN FOR ALL"

'Bahrain for All' was set-up to help celebrate the diversity in Bahrain under one flag. The vision of Bahrain for All is to promote the successes of the country and its people. Their events remain non-political, non-religious and non-profit initiative. The initiative has attracted a loyal following within various communities through year-long social activities over the years.

"Bahrain for All, All for Bahrain" was conceptualized in 2011. With the support and guidance from the Court of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, they succeeded in organizing the first event in May 2013. The idea was to mobilise

'Bahrain for All' run through sponsorship from the private sector. Through the communities that participate, they have managed to gain media exposure across the Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, Pakistan, India and Asia. They aim to reach a wider audience to demystify the misconception of Bahrain and to encourage voices of the people who call this country their home, to be heard of.

'Bahrain for All, All for Bahrain' is a vibrant celebration of gratitude and endorse contribution to the country even during difficult times. They will continue to contribute to the growth while promoting and respecting

different communities in Bahrain to showcase their culture and highlight strength of "unity in diversity" in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In May 2013 and 2016 "Bahrain for All" team received an invitation for an audience with H.R.H the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa who commended on their efforts. H.R.H the Prime Minister was delighted and reiterated the leadership’s stance for Bahrain to remain a free society for all creed, colour, and faiths. For volunteers and participants alike, the meetings were a milestone since the effort and commitment being recognized by the head of government.

BHR4All SeniorsBahrain for All is committed to supporting all segments of society, which includes the seniors. Senior citizens and residents are invited to celebrate their contribution to our society and spend a memorable day out.

Ms. Basma Saleh, who manages the Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for disabilities and represents Bahrain on the GCC Disability Council, is the Advisor for activities related to special needs and senior citizens centres in Bahrain.

The aim is to raise awareness, that the senior citizens' voices and experience are invaluable. Seniors often require more specialised care and attention. BH4All Seniors highlight how the private sector can contribute to the wellbeing of this important proud and dignified generation.

BHR4All Peace One Day'Bahrain for all, all for Bahrain' has been accepted as a member of the UN Peace One Day NGO Coalition Group. Peace One Day’s objective is to institutionalise Peace Day 21st September, to make it a day of self- sustainability, an annual day of global unity, and a day of intercultural cooperation.

Through a multi-platform approach, Peace One Day utilises different tools to

BHR4All Universal Children’s DayUniversal Children’s Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated on November 20th each year to improve awareness of the rights and welfare of children globally. This day also promotes international togetherness, since the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the same day in 1959.

The event consists of many activities for children to help better their lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential. During the ‘fun day with a serious message’ the children, play the game, ‘Kids Take Over’, where they assume many social roles to highlight pressing challenges their generation faces.

The Recycling Workstation involved children being informed about the importance of saving the environment and recycling articles of everyday use.

BHR4All NewsA monthly "Bahrain for All News" was launched to share some of the highlights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The monthly newsletter is published in exclusive partnership with “Bahrain this Week” in

BHR4All KidsBahrain for All is committed to support children and adults with special needs regardless of gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, or educational need.

Children are invited to events where they can form meaningful friendships, learn respect, better appreciation and understand individual differences, to prepare them for adult life in a diverse society. To ensure more focused attention, children are invited into a more confined area where activities are customised for them.

To avoid exclusion ramps are provided for those who are physically unable to get to the places they need to. Our aim is to raise awareness so that the public appreciate that it is the duty of all in society to take care of people with disabilities and offer them opportunities.

BHR4All WomenSociety needs the influence of women who are the profound influencers across society in shaping the young generation of a nation. Women across the globe have faced challenges in accessing education or entering into fields, which at one time were reserved for their male counterparts. Women today may still be playing a secondary role, without the unconditional support of men in authority. The aim of Bahrain for All Women is to support women in Bahrain society. Through the network of different nationalities, they offer women's wellbeing in body, mind and spirit, which are the foundations of a society.

Kingdom of Bahrain always promoted the 'Unity in Diversity' and supported the harmonious existence multi-nationalities and multi-religious communities in the Kingdom.

The historical Bab Al Bahrain gives way to the Manama Souq that also houses "Little India in Bahrain" vicinity. On behalf of the Shri Krishna organization and The Thattai (Bhatia) Community, Holi Rangotsav celebrations were held on Friday, 2nd March 2018 at T.H.M.C. Ground, Al Hadrami Avenue, Manama.

Holi, popularly known as the 'Festival of Colours' is an Indian and Nepali spring festival. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the Indian month Phagun, which falls in March in the Gregorian calendar. It is celebrated with a lot of gaiety and enthusiasm by young and old alike, who daub colored powder of different hues on each other. Over the decades, the festivals has spread to parts of Europe, North America and Middle as a celebration of love, and colours.

The festival signifies the victory of Good over Evil.There are many mythical stories behind the origin of the festival, and over all it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.

This festive occasion at "Little India in Bahrain" was attended by many dignitaries, distinguished guests, VIPs from the Bahrain Government Authorities, their Excellencies Ambassadors of India, Nepal, United Kingdom and France. Many people from

different nationalities arrived to celebrate the festival of colours and togetherness. The guests played with dry colours and water pipes in the open area, rejoiced the music and dance, and were served with sumptuous Indian cuisines. The event was indeed a grand success.

The organizers thank the Government and People of Bahrain, supporters for making the celebration memorable. They look forward to celebrating such festive occasions with great enthusiasm in the years to come.
