Launched in 2004, Dubai Silicon Oasis, the Integrated Technology Park, was established

Dubai Silicon Oasis’s (DSO) urban master-planned community spans 7.2 square kilometers of state of the art offi ce towers, R&D and industrial zones, educational institutions, villas and apartments, hotels, healthcare and a full range of lifestyle facilities that translate into a dynamic commercial and social environment. The technology park enjoys state-of-the-art utility infrastructure featuring advanced telecommunications, electricity, and roads networks.

Communication utilities DSO’s telecommunication infrastructure enjoys state-of-the-art equipment and systems including fi ber optics, broadband and video teleconferencing.

Electricity The electricity network at the Dubai Silicon Oasis premises is furnished by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). DSO provides a secure electric supply suitable for industrial, commercial and residential use. The total connected load has been calculated as per the master plan to cater for all future projects in a timely manner.

Irrigation NetworkDubai Silicon Oasis enjoys the advantage of having a combined fi re fi ghting and irrigation supply system which will provide a dedicated stable and continuous water source covering all landscape areas through a uniformly distributed network.

Fire Fighting NetworkDSO has one of the safest fi re fi ghting networks in the region. The fi re hydrant system meets civil defence requirements to guarantee a suitable coverage for the entire DSO premises and to ensure an easy access for the fi re fi ghting vehicles.

Potable Water NetworkDSO has its own pumping station associated with a state-of-art water network to insure a continuous water source and assure the satisfaction of the community.

Sanitary Sewer NetworkAs an integrated community DSO has its own Sewer Treatment Plant (STP) within its premises. The STP function is to collect the sanitary sewage through a dedicated, well distributed, and reliable network that is capable to deliver the promised service to accommodate the growing community.

The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) offers a comprehensive range of services specifi cally

tailored to the requirements of companies seeking to establish a presence at Dubai Silicon

Oasis. Business and government services such as company registration and licensing, leasing

tailor made facilities, customs clearance, visa processing, and immigration services are all

provided by DSOA under one roof.

Company/Business Registration & Licensing

Business License Issuance

Commercial entities planning to pursue their activities within Dubai Silicon Oasis are required

to establish their legal presence through the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) and obtain

a valid License for the activities they propose to conduct through the entity in DSOA. There are

three possible structures for an entity to establish its legal presence in DSO, these are:

1. Branch (of an established international company)

Any company established in the UAE or any foreign country can register its branch in the

Dubai Silicon Oasis. The activity the branch proposes to conduct in the Dubai Silicon

Oasis must be identical to the activity conducted by the parent company. There is no

minimum required Capital to establish a branch.

2. Free Zone Establishment (FZE)

An FZE is a legal entity incorporated/registered by a single shareholder. The shareholder

can either be an individual or a non-individual/corporate. The minimum required capital

to establish an FZE is AED.1,000,000/- represented by one share. Any additional capital

shall be in multiples of AED.1,000,000/-. An FZE enjoys limited liability status.

3. Free Zone Company (FZCO)

An FZCO is a legal entity incorporated/registered with a minimum of two shareholders.

Shareholders can either be individuals or non- individuals/corporates. A minimum

required capital of AED.500,000/- represented by 5 shares is required to establish

an FZCO in the Dubai Silicon Oasis. Each share shall be of a value of AED.100,000/-

or its multiples. The maximum number of shareholders with a minimum capital of

AED.500,000/- shall not exceed fi ve. The number of shareholders can go up to ten

provided that the value of capital and/or the number of shares are increased accordingly.

An FZCO enjoys limited liability status.

State-of-the-art Offi ce Facilities

Dubai Silicon Oasis offers “Plug & Play” offi ce facilities for companies looking to set up their

regional headquarters and R&D centers in the Middle East and the African region. DSO’s offi ce

facilities include high speed internet and VoIP connections, Avaya communications system and

other world class facilities.

Light Industrial Units / Warehouse

Dubai Silicon Oasis provides Light Industrial Units/Warehousing facilities, which includes

offi ces and mezzanine space. The total area per LIU is 363 sqm which includes a front offi ce

area of 157 sqm along with a warehouse area of 206 sqm.

Industrial Land Development

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority offers companies “Shovel Ready” industrial plots of land with

various sizes ranging from 6,000 sqm to 250,000 sqm to construct their regional headquarters,

associated warehousing, R&D backbones, manufacturing sites, or logistics and distribution

centers.

Prior to building, companies are required to obtain a building permit and provide it along

with other details about the building design to DSOA’s technical department, which is also

responsible for the regular inspection of construction procedures.

In line with DSOA’s policy to adhere to environmental requisites, we aim to promote and

encourage environmentally sound technologies and ensure that all buildings constructed within

the technology park comply with environmentally safe production procedures. Practices and

procedures that are harmful to the environment, health, safety or general welfare of the public

are not permitted at the Dubai Silicon Oasis.

NOTES:1. All documents should have valid signature(s) and stamp of body concerned. The documents will need to be either in English or

Arabic. As for the notarization, a Public Notary or Equivalent Authority must notarize all documents, with annexing method: (Manual system of binding multi-page documents together to create tamper-proof notarization, using eyelets, ribbons, and seals) or else each page will need to be stamped by the notary.

2. Documents requiring attestation have to be attested by UAE Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin or any Arab Embassies necessary if UAE Embassy or Consulate is not available (Some documents can be attested in DSOA as mentioned above).

3. Bank Share Capital Letter must be issued as original from a Dubai bank and cover an amount of not less than AED. 1,000,000.00 for FZE registration or AED. 500,000.00 for FZCO registration.

4. Once the required documents are submitted, the licensing officer will check their legality. If confirmed, the client will be notified to sign a lease agreement. DSOA will then issue the license and if applicable hand over the keys to the rented facility.
