Magnolia &. Crappie Club News/eWer 662-820-4581 Volume 08-09 Issue 9 May 30, 09 Barnett I11 Well we couldn't have ask for a more per- fect day to end the 08-09 regular season than this one. Not only was it a perfect day but we had 42 boats which is more than we had all year, not to mention that of the 42 teams, two of them where new teams. Now at's a ending the season with a bang! First Place was take by none other than team Rogers-Jane and Rabbit. They brought in 12.70#'s to beat out the rest of the field by one pound or more. Not only did they win the tournament but the won the 08-09 Points 1 <t Place lane & Rabhlt Tio~er~ 12 70 #s Race. Congratulations on the victory and points championship. - Second Place was captured by Earl Brink & Kenny Browning with a fine weight of 11.70#s. That's a great catch and a good finish going into the post action but you came up just a little short on this one. This team will definitely be one to watch at the Championship! First Big Fish was caught by the team of Ray Williams & Rodger Wormack with a huge 2.31# Barnett speck. What a fish! Nice catch men. I Now turning our attention towards our 2-day State Championship on Ferguson and Washington. This should be a real shoot out. We 1 st start our tournament off on Thursday night the 18th with a meal and 2nd elections at the Highland Club on the back side of Lake Washington. 3rd 1 will have a sign out on the road where you need to turn so all you 4th need to do is go around to the back of the lake and look for the sign. 5th To left is a copy of this years Championship payout schedule. I 6th know it seems to be less than years past and this is why. We-the 7th board- restructured the regular season payout to pay more per tour- 8th nament. What we did was we took money from the end of the year 9th and spread it out over 9 tournaments to help you out. We were pay- 10th ing about $300 more than we were taken in per tournament. This I lth was done to try to help each and everyone as the season went 12th along. 13th With all that being said we are still I 14th tournament and a great payout. Th 15th should be a real barn burner. Make sure that you pay attention to the event 16th schedule on the back cover or call me @ 17th 66-820-4581 if you have any questions. 18th 19th 20th Good Luck !! 100.00% $7,000 $7,000 2nd Brink & Aroa.niclg 11.70#s

We will be holding our MCC State Championship on Lake Ferguson-Greenville and Lake Washington-Glen Allan. We will fish Ferguson on Friday the 19th and Lake Washington on Saturday the 20th. Make sure you read over the schedule of events on the back page of this newsletter. If you have any questions feel free to call me @ 662-820-4581. We will kick things o f f Thursday, June 18th, a t the Highland Club on the backside of Lake Washington with our annual General Membership meeting and Registra- tion starting a t 5:00 PM sharp. Entry fee is $20 per team. Af ter all teams are registered the meeting will s tar t with our elections for our 09-10 season followed by a meal catered by Cicero's of Leland. Cost for that meal will be $10 per person and col- lected a t the door. Af ter the meal we will go over the rules and pass out our points money and at that time you will be dismissed .

Now with the regular season past us I had to step back in the shade and take a deep breath of fresh air before I head up to the delta and prepare to nin the 08-09 MCC State Championship. I suggest vou do the same.

    From TD Desk-by by@ Krutz

Well, well, well another season has just about come and gone. Can you guys believe that we are about to put another suc- cessful season in the books? I for one have had as good of a time as I can remember in my six years of fishing with MCC. I'm already thinking about next year but let's not get ahead of ourselves as there is still one more big event left.

Mother Nature treated us well this year and the last tournament at Barnett was no exception. The beautiful sunrise ser- vice we had for our fallen members just led right into one of the most pleasurable tournaments we've had all year. Con-

ratulations to Team Rogers for doing what we all knew the would do. They dqminated the points race as well as, the %st Barnett tournament. Also new team Brownlng and ~ r l n z proved long llnln is an affeqtye way,to fish at Barnett wlth a second place we1 ht of 11.70. Way to o uys and maybe one day we can se?up a long lln~ng cl~nlc as I'm sure there are others that wouldyove to learn the metfo?

I would also like to congratulate a new member, Ray Williams. Ray had a great finish at the second Barnett tournament, which I have been told was his first crappie tournament ever. He also proved he and Mr. Warnock will be a force to reckon with next season by bringing in a MONSTER black crappie to take big fish of the tournament. Congratulations guys and welcome!

While I'm on the subject of new members, I would like to say welcome to all the newcomers this year. I can't name them all one by one but we are proud to have you. We have had more first timer fishermen this year than any other year that I can recall. That's what makes this club the strongest crappie club in the country. I am proud to be associated with such a fine group of people. The club welcomes you whether you are a spider rigger, jig fishermen, or a long liner. Let's just all have a good time because that is why we do this! Let's take this momentum right into next year by bringing new faces into this awesome club!

Next up is the Magnolia Crappie Club Championship. We will be fishing two of MCC's favorite fishing holes, Lake Fergu- son and Lake Washington. I know of several teams that think they have it in the bag. I have overheard McKay and Moss saying it was as good as theirs. Last year's champions Hollingsworth and Clark have said they plan to repeat. I know one thing for sure we will have some fun. There will be a fish fry Thursday night at The Highland Club along with a general membership meeting that is REQUIRED. Each member will need to bring $10 to pay for your meal. We will register for the tournament and pay points money at this function so please don't be late. See ya on the lake!

2009 Magnolia Crappie State Championship Rules To qualify for the "Magnolia Crappie State Championship" a team must have participated in all but two held regular club tournaments and have a total of 90 points. Only team members who have been designated as a "regular team member"

may fish the "Championship". No "substitute" fishermen are qualified for the "Championship". No more than two people are allowed in tournament boats at any point during tournament hours except for emergencies or assistance with boat trouble.

No pre-fishing will be allowed after 4:00 PM June 18'" No member of a team competing in the State Championship will be allowed on the Championship lakes except during official tournament hours on June lgth & 20th.

The entry fee for the State Championship is $20.00 per team. This fee must be paid before 6:00 PM, June 18'~.

Teams may launch from any ramp on the designated tournament lakes after clearing boat inspection. The Official Start Fishing time is 6:00 AM each day. Fish must be caught while fishing from within the boat.

DAY ONE- June lg th competition will be held on Lake Ferguson. All boats must be inspected between 4::45 to 5:30 AM on the leeve on the city front ramp, prior to launching. lnspected boats will receive a weigh in ticket at that point indicating they have cleared inspection.

DAY TWO- June 20th competition will be held on Lake Washington. All boats must be inspected between 4:45 to 5:30 AM at Southern Stars, prior to launching. Inspected boats will receive a weigh in ticket at that point indicating they have cleared inspection.

Cell phones, radios and any other form of electronic communication may not be used to receive fishing information. Elec- tronic communication is allowed in the case of boat trouble, emergencies, or personal non-fishing related phone calls.

Stop Fishinq Time-Teams must stop fishing no later than 2:00 PM each day. Hooks must be out of the water before 2:00 PM.

    Weiqh-In Rules

Weigh-In for Dav One-Public Ramp north of the city front ramp and Dav Two-Southern Stars will be at 2:30 PM.

At least one team member must be in the immediate Weigh-In area with no more than 7 crappie at least 10" long caught by the tournament team on tournament day. Teams must turn in Weigh-In tickets before 2:30 PM.

I Ftsh judged by the Tournament Director to be under 10 inches will be thrown out and may not be replaced by another fish. The remaining fish will be weighed.

Our "end of the line" rule will be in play for the Championship. Teams who present more than 7 fish to the weigh master will be sent to the end of the line. Iced down fish will also be sent to the end of the line. No DQ for either of these infrac- tions. Fish will be weighed only one time. Teams may weigh as many Big Fish as they like.

    Payouts \

We will pay two "Big Fish" prizes each day at the rate of $10 per boat per day. 60% for the heaviest fish and 40% for the second heaviest fish. One team can win both prizes each day. The Championship Big Fish prizes will be paid the day of the tournament.

Additionally, the Top 20 weights from each day will receive cash awards per the 2009 State Championship Payout Sched- ule. The team with the heaviest 2-day weight will be declared the State Champs + an additional $500 cash prize. The Top 20 Championship payouts and the $500 Championship prize and trophies will be awarded at the Awards Banquet on July 12th.

In the event of inclement or dangerous weather, the Governing Board will decide whether or not to fish. The Board may decide to delay the starting time on either day. Either day or both days may be canceled. If one day is canceled and one day is fished the "State Championship" becomes a one day tournament and the total Payout Schedule is paid per that one day's weigh in results. If both days are canceled, the "State Championship" will be re-scheduled for the next Friday and Saturday until at least one day is fished.

Special circumstances involving late arrivals, teams that want to fish only one of the two days, or any other variances to these rules must be cleared and approved individually by Tournament Director Hugh Krutz ( 601-946-31 11). His decision to allow any variances to the above rules is his decision alone, and his ruling is final. There is no appeals process.
