Amadeus is a technology company dedicated to the world’s travel industry. We offer cutting-edge technology solutions that help key players in the travel industry succeed in their business, and shape the future of travel moving forward. And we do it on a truly global scale. In 2017 Amadeus processed more than 630 million bookings. Together with Navitaire, our systems boarded 1.6 billion passengers. In 2017, Forbes magazine recognized us as one of the world’s top 15 software companies, and Amadeus has been included to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for five years in a row. We are the only travel technology company in the 2017 DJSI - a key recognition of our commitment to business sustainability, environmental and social practices in all of our operations.
We design our solutions around not only our customers’ needs but also their customers’ needs. Right from the first moment of the traveller life-cycle from looking for inspiration for travel possibilities through to shopping, booking and then pre, on and post-trip. At all stages of the travel experience our solutions help our customers deliver better service to travellers. We continuously conduct extensive research to better understand traveller trends in the future. We recently worked with the Future Foundation to develop the Future Traveller Tribes study, which identifies the traveller segments that will shape the future of travel, and advises travel businesses on how to meet their needs. We are also conducting research into accessible travel, to explore how travel businesses can meet the needs of growing numbers of people traveling with specialized requirements. (HERE YOU CAN MENTION SOME OF OUR SOLUTIONS BY THE CATEGORIES IN THE TRAVELLER LIFE CYCLE ILLUSTRATION - AS APPROPRIATE TO YOUR AUDIENCE)
We are a truly multinational enterprise, with headquarters in Madrid, Spain. We are near to our customers with a network of commercial offices, key sites and technology sites. Amadeus now delivers services from many locations, including a privately owned data centre, private cloud in remote locations and public cloud. A big part of our success is explained by our local presence in virtually every one of the world’s travel markets – more than the countries in which the UN operates. We understand and serve the needs of travellers and travel businesses everywhere.

Presentation Notes
We were founded in 1987 by four European airlines: Iberia, Air France, Lufthansa and SAS as an independent and neutral global distribution system, to enable airlines to sell seats more easily, more cost effectively and with greater reach. It was the beginning of a journey to shape the future of travel and the very first ticket was issued through Amadeus in 1992. It took vision, innovation and the development of great technology to make our distribution platform successful – and very quickly we expanded our activities. More and more airlines joined Amadeus as well as other travel providers such as hotels, railways, car rental companies. For travel agencies Amadeus became a crucial business partner in providing an efficient means of finding, booking and managing the best travel offers from multiple providers. Amadeus’ success was based on being an efficient sales system for travel providers and a source of comprehensive choice for travel sellers. Over the years Amadeus has continued to grow and we have seen many changes. There has been an exponential increase in the number of travel players working with Amadeus. In 2000 we expanded our business into complementary areas such as Airline IT. And leveraging our expertise in this area have we been able to diversify into IT solutions for hotel, rail and airports. In recent years we announced a major distribution contract with Ryanair, a breakthrough strategic technology relationship with InterContinental Hotels to build a next-generation reservation system, the acquisition of Newmarket and Itesso. In 2016 we were awarded Red Hat Cloud Innovator of the Year, and closed the acquisition of Navitaire – the leading provider of technology services to hybrid and low-cost airlines. In May 2017 Southwest Airlines and Amadeus jointly announced the carrier’s transition to the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS). At 101 airports across nine countries, all Southwest® domestic and international flights operating will be managed through Altéa functionality. Our Purpose is to work together with our customers and partners to shape the future of travel. This is also our promise we make to the market place to customers, investors, future talent and other stakeholder groups. Technology plays a critical part in the world’s travel industry and we are excited by how we can play our part in the travel industry of tomorrow. How will we do this? First, by working every day guided by a clear set of values. The 4 values of ‘Customers first’, Working together’, ‘Taking responsibility’, Aiming for excellence’ guide us in our day to day activity. Innovation and new revenues – Innovation is at the heart of what we do. New technological innovation and diversifying our business into complementary areas of the travel industry will bring us growth opportunities and new revenues Efficiency & operational excellence – Our customers depend on us. Efficiency and operational excellence are absolutely fundamental to our strategy. Our people and our culture – Our success has been driven by the talent and diversity of our people. This remains true today and vital for the future. With a strong values based culture and delivering on our business strategy we believe that we will be able to achieve our Vision: “to be the leading provider of technology solutions for the travel industry.”

How do we see the future of travel? Shape a personalised travel future Tomorrow’s travellers will want a more personalised way to travel. They want to be able to search for travel experiences that will be unique to them – be it business or leisure. They’ll want local knowledge, advice from fellow travellers about their trips and to share their plans with friends. They’ll expect to be able to choose their seat and pick who they sit next to using social media. They’ll also expect real-time travel information delivered to their devices as well as receive personalised offers at the airport. By working together we can deliver travellers and the travel industry the kind of personalised future that benefits everyone. Shape a connected travel future Tomorrow’s travellers will want the world to join together around their particular needs. They’ll expect their journeys to be one single smooth experience – from thinking of where to go, to buying tickets, to arriving at the airport, to travelling and then reaching their final destination. And if unavoidable disruptions do occur, they’ll expect to be instantly informed on how it will affect them personally. At Amadeus we believe that this desire for connectivity will only grow further – across all modes of transport, experiences and devices. By working together we can connect the many different aspects of the travel industry and deliver connected experiences to travellers everywhere. Shape a sustainable travel future Travel companies are realising that true long-term business sustainability requires not only considering commercial and economic needs, but also making a positive impact on society and the environment – both locally and globally. We’ll all need to be actively involved in understanding and nurturing these areas in order to meet the requirements of today without compromising the needs of tomorrow. What’s more, travellers will be expecting the companies they travel with to be doing exactly that. By working together we can provide travel businesses with more visibility and control over their economic, social and environmental impacts.
