Entry Level assessments – paper-based, on demand

• learners are registered (before they sit the assessment), through the Walled Garden

• nominated centre contact appointed

• passwords for accessing live assessment papers on Walled Garden

• papers and assessment packs downloaded in readiness for assessment – stored securely until assessment

• assessments internally marked, internally verified, externally verified

• centre may receive direct claims status after positive EV visit

• scripts sent for external marking

• results on Walled Garden within 20 working days

• all active Key Skills (3638) and pilot Functional Skills (3648) centres granted automatic approval for 3748

• all Adult Numeracy/Literacy (3792), ESOL Skills for Life (3692) and ICT Skills for Life (3804) centres able to complete a fast track form

• other centres will need to complete a qualification approval (QAP) form

• 3748 has 3 complexes

each complex is for 1 subject, but all levels for the subject

consists of 3 parts

Reading

Speaking, listening and communication

each part is assessed separately

learners must complete all parts

certificate awarded at lowest level of achievement

dictionaries are allowed at all levels
