• Mobile Phone– Don’t give your personal mobile phone number to

students or their parents;– Don’t leave it lying around where students can get

hold of it;– Don’t communicate with students via their mobile

phones by text message.

• Email– Don’t give your personal email address to students

or their parents;– Make sure boxes that “remember me” are not

checked;– Never leave your email account open on your

desktop;– Avoid printing emails: they often get left behind!

• Social Networking– Never add students as “friends” on Facebook etc.;– Avoid posting photographs – Be aware that other people can post photographs

of you;– NEVER accept the default settings on Facebook!
