CALLING OUR SCHOOL-AGE

CHILDREN…

CHRISTMAS EVE IS COMING!!..... and along with all the music and singing at the 5:00 Christmas Eve service, we will need to have some kids (kindergarten age and up) who would be willing to help Pastor Jim tell the Christmas story by being the characters (like Mary, Jo-seph, angels, shepherds, wisemen). You don’t have to memorize anything, just be willing to go up front when it is time. We also could use a few of you that would be scripture readers. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Wolfe. This, again, is an awesome way to be part of this special Christmas celebration. Looking forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to email or call me with any questions. Bethlehem Handcrafts November 19 and 20 Bethlehem Handcrafts will be available for sale on the patio. These works of art contain religious figurines from the city of Bethlehem made from trimmings of Holy Land Olive Trees. The olive wood carving is a tradition that was introduced by the monks and priests and later perfected by local carvers, handed down from father to son for the last 700 years. Sales go to support Christian families in Bethlehem.

Women’s Ministry Book Club During the month of November, we will be reading "The Daughters of Mars", a story of two sisters whose lives are transformed by the cataclysm of World War I. The two spirited Australian girls join the war effort as nurses, and nothing could have prepared them for what they confront. The book is written by Thomas Keneally, (the author of "Schindler's List"). We will meet for the book discussion and a light Christmas dinner at the home of Judi Anderson on Thursday, December 5. Please sign up on the clipboard at the Women's Ministry cart. Need more details? Call Judi at (760) 443-2278. Hope you can join us! Can You Help? A single professional woman is looking for full or part-time employment. She is a member of Grace, has been a teacher, and is open to all job opportunities. Please contact the church office if you know of any job openings. Tutoring: A synodically trained teacher is available for tutoring grades K through 5. If interested, contact Kara Warner (760-745-0831, x108) or Sharon Stanley (760-807-4294). SCRIP for Christmas!
