SACRAMENTS
Baptism Baptism is celebrated after consultation with the parish staff as to date. Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child’s Baptism.
Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade.
Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the sixth/seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation.
Matrimony A six-month required sacramental preparation process begins when the engaged couple meets with the priest or deacon and culminates in the couple’s exchange of consent on their wedding day.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
A one-year process for preparation and study is required for all those interested in becoming Catholic.

CAMBIO Cuaresma es cambio y cambiar no es fácil. Para poder cambiar debemos dejar algo atrás. Hoy escuchamos acerca de un hombre muy viejo que decide responder al llamado de Dios. Abram atraviesa por una tremenda cantidad de cambios cuando todo lo deja y lo arriesga por la promesa de Dios. Jesús cambia, se transfigura, justo delante de los ojos de sus discípulos. Las escrituras en Cuaresma nos llaman a cambiar, a ser transfigura-dos, para que también nosotros pronto participemos en la gloria de Dios. ¿Qué nos pide Dios dejar atrás? ¿Estamos dispuestos a arriesgarlo todo por la promesa que Dios hace? Through CRS Rice Bowl, faith communities in every diocese throughout the Unit-ed States put heir faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiv-ing. Lenten alms donated through CRS Rice Bowl support the work of CRS in roughly 45 different coun-tries each year. 25% of all donations to CRS stay in the local diocese, sup-porting hunger and poverty allevia-tion efforts. Since its inception in 1975, CRS Rice Bowl has raised near-ly 4300 million.$300 million.

LENTEN DAYS OF FAST & ABSTINENCE
The rules for fast and abstinence in the United States are: Every person 14 years or older must abstain from meat (and items made with meat) on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all other Fridays of Lent. Every person between the age of 18 and 59 (beginning of the 60th year) must fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
The Knights of Columbus will have their annual Friday Night Fish Fry during Lent, starting, February 28th thru April 3rd at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville, from 5-7 PM. Come out and enjoy some great food and fellow-ship.

In an effort to serve the growing number of needy children in Mercer County, the So-cial Events committee will have an ‘Undie Sundays’ drive during Lent. These undies will be given to the elementary school re-source centers for distribution as needed.
Sizes needed: Girls: 4-5, 7 Boys: 6, 7, 8
Also needed are gym shoes for boys and girls in sizes 11, 12, 1, 2, or 3.
