Rustavi - the third biggest city inGeorgia (approximately 116 000residents) located just 25 kmfrom the capital city Tbilisi, 25km from Azerbaijan border, 72km from Armenia. Rustavi was amajor industrial center duringthe Soviet period - thedevelopment of Rustavi waspart of Stalin's acceleratedindustrialization process andRustavi in nowadays still is richwith huge Soviet time heritage.

No matter that Rustavi is thethird biggest city of Georgia,local community is cozy and liferuns calm. The city is situatedonly 25 km from the capital andyou can catch minibus to Tbilisievery 10 minutes. People inRustavi are very hospitable andopen-minded. In the city thereare a lot of restaurants,cafeterias, theaters andbeautiful, wild parks. Butunfortunately a lot of youth-related problems exist here.

Association "Georgian Youth for Europe" (GYE) isan independent non-political, non-governmental,non-profit organization. GYE mission is to motivateRustavi youth to develop their personal potential asindividuals and responsible citizens. GYE isproviding non-formal education for local childrenand youth. Local and foreign volunteers organizedifferent clubs for Rustavi youth (such as languageclubs, variety of hobby clubs, Human rights club,Eco club, etc.). GYE is actively involved in Erasmus+ projects, hosting youth exchanges and trainings. GYE Staff members(2 full time workers and local volunteers) arequalified youth workers. They speak fluent English.Most of them have been ESC volunteers in differentcountries and have wide experience of workingwith international team. ESC coordinator will beresponsible for all ESC volunteers in GYE and act as a main contact person for ESCvolunteers and for sending organizations. Target Groups with which volunteers will work:GYE mainly works with 6-25-year-old young peoplewho are regularly visiting GYE. Almost everyGeorgian youngster knows basics of English. Theyalso know Russian language. All GYE staff membersfluently speak in English. If there are situationswhen a person with whom an ESC volunteercommunicates doesn't know any foreignerlanguage, someone from GYE staff or volunteer’smentor can help him/her to fix this problem bytranslating their conversation. The working andliving atmosphere at GYE is very international anddynamic and volunteers will have an opportunity tomeet with people from all over the world. They willlearn about other cultures, religions, life styles andapproaches to youth empowerment.

hours and

days off

The ESC volunteer will work 5 daysper week, 7 hours per day, Saturdayand Sunday are free. The volunteerwill have 2 days off as holidays permonth, all Georgian NationalHolidays and Christmas (December24, 25, 26).

Volunteer will be provided withIntensive Georgian language lessonsfor the 1st 3 months.

Accommod

ation and

Transport

All the costs related to theaccommodation will be supported bythe hosting organization. Thevolunteer will share a flat with othervolunteers situated in a housingestate - about 10 minutes walkingdistance from the town center.She/he will have a separate room.The flat is newly reconstructed andhas good condition of living. Thereis a kitchen in the volunteer’s flatwhere he/she can cook. Bathroomand kitchen will be common for allvolunteers living in the flat. Shops,pharmacies and restaurants areclose-by (5-10-minute walk).

Volunteers

Working with young people aged 8-30; Promote Erasmus + programs toyoung people in the region; Make a blog and offer articles forthe website;Leading French forbeginners/English conversation club; Leading hobby clubs (Backpacker’sclub, DIY club, Movie club etc.) Office assistance; Organizing different events in GYEoffice (debate, table games, photoexhibition, scavenger hunt, swapcloth exchange, language café, etc.)Lead different workshops (recycling,environmental, leadership, teambuilding games and energizer,teamwork workshop etc.)Working on monthly newsletter –GYE Bulldozer;Managing GYE Facebook page andWeb-page;Working children’s for "Sapovnela"day Centre (teach them basicEnglish, organize free time activities,handcrafts, outdoor andindoorgames, team building activities. )
