Favor de llegar con 15 minutos de anticipación para cumplir con todos nuestros protocolos por el Covid, de esta manera podemos iniciar y terminar puntualmente nuestro encuentro.
“The rite of Christian initiation is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts.”
General Instruction #1
In speaking of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, one is speaking of how the community not only walks but celebrates the journey of conversion and faith made by the catechumen. The catechumenate is the journey of both the catechumen and the community of the baptized. Because conversion takes place over a period of time, there is a need to mark different places one passes before entering the waters of Baptism. For each moment or place along this journey the community takes time to celebrate. It might be helpful in understanding this to consider the following schema:
Precatechumenate - Catechumenate - Enlightenment - Mystagogia Evangelization: - Catechesis & - Scrutinies - Discernment: Formation retreat: enter- meaning of Hearing the Good -prayer ing the desert discipleship News -teaching in prayer (mission) (Inquiry) - service Rite of Enrollment - Rite of Election - Paschal Triduum - Pentecost
The General Instruction (RCIA) states: “the initiation of catechumens is a gradual process that takes place within the community of the faithful”. It is worth attending to the part of the statement that speaks of the community of the faithful. The Instruction goes on to speak of the participation of the community of the faithful as a “renewing of their own conversion”. The statement makes 2 important points:
1) The Catechumenate is the responsibility of the entire parish Community. Because it is ritualized in sacrament (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) it is an essential activity of being Church.
2) The catechumen (nonbaptized adult) ministers to the community of the faithful. God uses the catechumen to call His people to conversion, to reflect on the meaning of their own baptism and how it is being lived out.
Reflecting on the various stages of the catechumen’s journey of faith, one can come to see that there is a need for all of the community to be involved, most importantly, as evangelizers, proclaimers of the Good News. In the Gospel of John (15:26) Jesus, in speaking of the coming of the Paraclete who will bear witness on His behalf, tells His disciples that they also must bear witness on His behalf. According to John, one bears witness (martyr-evangelizer) by loving others as Christ loves us and by being, after the example of Jesus, washers of feet. Indeed, this is the agenda for the community of the faithful as it begins its own journey of being renewed in the faith.

“El rito de iniciación Cristiana está diseñada para adultos que, después de escuchar el misterio de Cristo proclamado, consciente y libremente buscan al Dios viviente y entran en el camino de la fe y la conversión al tiempo en que el Espíritu Santo abre sus corazones.” –Instructivo General # 1
Cuando hablamos del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos, estamos hablando de cómo la comunidad no solo camina, también celebra la jornada de conversión y de fe que recorre el catecúmeno. El Catecumenado es la jornada que recorren tanto el catecúmeno como la comunidad de bautizados. Dado que la conversión toma lugar en cierto periodo de tiempo, es necesario marcar los diferentes lugares que se recorren antes de entrar en las aguas del Baptismo. Por cada momento o lugar del recorrido, la comunidad dedica tiempo para celebrar.
El siguiente esquema puede ayudarnos a comprender mejor: Pre-catecumenado - Catecumenado - Alumbramiento - Mystagogia Evangelización: - Catequésis & - Ecrutinios - Discernimiento: Formación retiro: entrar significado del Escuchando las -oración al desierto discipulado Buenas Noticias -enseñanza en oracióm (misión) (Interrogante) - servicio Rito of Registro - Rito of Elección - Triduo Pascual - Pentecostés El Instructivo General (RICA) establece: “la iniciación de catecúmenos es un proceso gradual que se hace en la comunidad de fieles”. Vale la pena poner atención en la parte donde el estatuto habla de la comunidad de fieles. El Instructivo habla de la participación de la comunidad de fieles como una “renovación de su propia conversión”. El estatuto marca dos puntos importantes:
1) El Catecumenado es responsabilidad de toda la comunidad parroquial. Dado que es ritualizado en sacramento (Bautismo, Confirmación, Eucaristía), es una activi-dad escencial de ser Iglesia.
2) El Catecúmeno (adulto no bautizado) es ministro de la comunidad de fieles. Dios
usa al catecúmeno para llamar a Su gente a la conversión, a reflexionar sobre el significado de su propio bautismo y su experiencia de vivir sin ser bautizado.
Reflexionando en las diferentes etapas del recorrido que hace el catecúmeno en su fe, podemos ver que existe una necesidad de que toda la comunidad se involucre en lo más importante, siendo evangelizadores, proclamadores de las Buenas Noticias. En el Evangelio de San Juan (15.26) Jesús, habla de la venida del Protector, que le enviaré desde el padre, por ser él el Espíritu de verdad que procede del Padre, dará testimonio de mi. Segun San Juan, nosotros debemos testificar (mártir-evangelizador) amando a los demás como Cristo nos ha amado, y siguiendo el ejemplo de Jesus, ser lavadores de pies. Sin embargo, esta es la agenda para la comunidad de fieles que empieza su propia jornada para ser renovados en la fe.

Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos, es un proceso de estudio y oración para quienes se unen a la Fe Católica. Las clases en Inglés y en Español empiezan en septiembre. Llame a la oficina parroquial para registrarse (630)231-0013. BAUTISMO: Felicidades! Esperamos recibir a su niño(a) en la vida de la Iglesia. Es un requisito para los padres y padrinos asistir a dos clases de preparación antes del bautismo. Por favor llame a la Oficina Parroquial para registrarse para las clases antes de que nazca su bebé. Cuando elija a los padrinos, recuerde que ellos tienen que ser Católicos practicantes de su fe y que hayan recibido los sacra-mentos del Bautismo, Primera Comunión y la Confirmación, y tener por lo menos 16 años de edad.

Infant Baptisms: Congratulations! We look forward to welcoming your child into the life of the Church. It is required for parents to attend two preparation classes before having their child baptized. Please call the Parish Center to register for classes prior to the birth of your child. When choosing godparents, please keep in mind that godparents are required to be practicing Catholics who have received the sacraments of Baptism, the Eucharist, and Confirmation and are at least 16 years of age.
WEDDINGS: Arrangements are to be made six months in advance with one of the priests.
RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION): Saturdays, 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. in the Church, or anytime by appointment.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Call the Parish Center immediately in case of emergency, or to schedule a visitation for the homebound or for the hospitalized.
