This app, will perform the installation of the SW (BI, TM1, SPSS) + Demo applications unto a clean disk or VM.   • 2015 IBM Corporation 18 This is the provisioning interface, please note the highlighted areas You must select the image, the list of available images is growing so you may want to filter by Product, also, choose the SoftLayer Server that will be used to provide the environment

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 19 When you select an image, its highlighted in green and the description is expanded, please read it thoroughly Each image has an explanation of its content, list of Products and installed versions, some images allow Remote Desktop (RDP) into them, some are Unix/Linux and have special instructions.

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 22 Once you have filled checked all fields click on [Provision] At provision time, you can also choose to add VPN access, this can prevent hackers from messing up your provisioned VM

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 23 A second browser window will pop up letting you know you have provisioned a new instance the actual process may take between 20 mins to 1 hour depending on actual server load. Click [OK] to be taken back to My Cloud page

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 24 After you submit, your selected image shows up either highlighted in yellow, with status [Provisioning], or highlighted in blue (if VPN was chosen) with Status [Private], as shown below: This page is refreshed automatically, you can exit and check back later, in any case, once the selected image is provisioned, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access it. The selected image will then show highlighted in green or blue (for VPN), and an IP address and password will have been assigned.

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 27 Possible actions on a provisioned image : - Delete (if you no longer need it, and dont want to wait for regular expiration) - Archive (to save your image for up to 60 days retaining all settings and changes - Transfer (to change the owner to a co-worker for example) - Rename (to provide a more meaningful name for the instance - Opportunity Info (to update what the image is being used for) - Hardware Reboot (in case the image is frozen or otherwise unresponsive)

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 28 Once provisioned (with or without VPN) on the cloud, you have 2 options to access: a- directly clicking on the name (hyperlink to the demo environment) Clicking directly on this link will open a separate browser session. The user and password for the Demo environment is : administrator / IBMDem0s

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 29 b- accessing through RDP (if available for the image) please make sure you click [YES] if you get this warning message when you fill the login window

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 30 When you RDP into the Hosted demo, you are placed inside the actual Windows OS of the Virtual machine From here you can start or turn off any windows component or service, copy files from your own Computer into this Image or extract a demo package you may have created inside this machine to use it on other Computer or save it as backup, remember all content will be lost when the provisioned demo expires.

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 31 By default, your hosted demonstration will be de-provisioned when its date and time have expired as stated under Provision Until. If you choose to [Archive] one image, you will be presented with this message indicating you have done so. Also, the image will be added to the list of images you can provision, please note ONLY 1 image can be archived at any given period. Also, make sure you re- provision from the SAME server as the original one and before 60 days have passed.

  • 2015 IBM Corporation 32 If VPN protection was chosen at provisioning time, then you must install and RUN THIS FIRST before you click on the generated active link or RDP into it https://vpn.sng01.softlayer.com/prx/000/http/localhost/login User = ibmdemovpn Password = IBMDem0s! Accept the prompts to install and then press [Connect], there will be a red capital A showing in your taskbar when the VPN is connected correctly
