Brief History of System z Education at Universities in Germany
since 1988: Prof. Spruth at Universitaet Tuebingen (ongoing)
since 1993: Prof. Spruth at Universitaet Leipzig (ongoing)
since 2001: System z hardware (currently z9) in Leipzig
since 2007: System z hardware (z9 BC) in Tuebingen
since 2000: Hochschule Bochum organizes a yearly mainframe summerschool (5-6 weeks) with support from IBM
since about 2004/2005 different types of lectures at various universities
2008 responsibility for System z University Program moved to the IBM Research & Development Lab in Boeblingen
