Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I customize the pack?Customization of wire length and connector is allowed if a minimum order qty. of >5K units / order is achieved. The changes must be documented in the Application Form, a new drawing will be generated. Tooling costs may apply.

Do I need the Application Form for each customer and project?Yes you do. While a general type release is given, for safety reasons a quick check is needed to ensure that battery is suitable for the individual design. Thus, the Application Form must be signed by the customer and VARTA QA before shipment starts.

Which battery documentation is available?All important data and specifications are compiled within the Preliminary Engineering Data for the Standard Li-Ion Battery Pack LIC 18650-22C 2200 mAh and LIP 553048CC 740 mAh. The binding battery specifications are noted on the battery drawing. The cell data sheet is added for reference only.

Is there any separate PCM specification?The PCM specification is incorporated into the battery specification noted on the drawing.

Which document do I have to give to the customer before selling or hand over samples?The Preliminary Engineering Data and the ‘Handling, Precautions and Prohibitions for Li Ion Batteries’ must be given to the customer.

Where can I get samples?The normal process of using SPFs is applicable.
