Pros and Cons – WixPros

It's Sexy - Wix gives you tools to build really attractive and customized looking websites with over 350 templates, or you could create your own. In addition, their user interface is very interactive.

Free platform – Wix's free platform gives you enough tools to build a beautiful and functional website. Upgrading to their Premium Plans gives you access to more powerful tools, but it's not a must. You can definitely test out Wix, risk-free.

Intuitive Drag & Drop interface – Wix uses drag and drop technology for you to build websites. Pick what you need (image, slideshows, text, etc) and position them wherever you want without restrictions. I found Wix very easy to learn as the interface is quite intuitive.

Cons

Most of the really attractive templates is Flash-based. As such, if you use the flash templates it may not be completely optimized for SEO and mobile devices. Further, not all browsers support Flash (such as Apple). However, Wix does have an HTML builder so this will significantly improve SEO results if you use HTML-based templates.

Wix advertisement is clearly visible on Wix's free platform towards the top right corner. Upgrade to Wix's premium plan to remove advertisements.

Loading time could be slower as flash- based websites tend to take more time to load and also, flash-based websites tend to be graphics heavy.

Pros and Cons – WeeblyPros

One of the easiest and most user friendly drag & drop website builder in the market. You can literally build a good website in less than an hour

Free platform - Weebly’s free platform provides you enough tools to build a very functional website. There is absolutely no pressure to upgrade to the paid platform

Pre-made Weebly compatible templates readily available allows you to build a beautiful looking website at a very affordable price (versus paying thousands of dollars to customize your website design)

Cons

Not designed for e-commerce needs. The existing Weebly tools allow you to build a very basic business website but lacks more sophisticated e-commerce tools such as inventory tracking or automated sales emails

Limited number of professionally designed templates. At the time of this Report, Weebly has recently added 25 new themes to its existing 100 themes. But overall, they need more professional themes to be more “complete”

Some users have complained that website loading times could be slower once in a while. But in my experience this is not problematic. The loading time goes right back to normal after a few minutes.

Pros and Cons – JimdoPros

Free platform – Jimdo’s free platform provides you enough tools to build a very functional website. There is absolutely no pressure to upgrade to the paid platform

Jimdo’s robust e-commerce platform provides you with back-end support which helps you track inventory, open / closed orders and automatic pre-set email responses to your customers

Large, supportive community forum allows you to search for solutions from the Jimdo user community and forum moderators

Cons

Limited number of professionally designed templates. But this is understandable as Jimdo’s core competency is to design website building functions. We would like to see more variety of designs made available.

Jimdo advertisement on the free platform is quite visible on the side bar. Upgrade to the paid platform to remove advertisements

Not a true drag-and-drop user interface. But don't let this convince you that Jimdo isn't easy to use. Its functions and user-friendliness is till superb

Review Conclusions – Wix

If creating a beautiful and interactive website is important, I would recommend trying Wix. If you look at the websites that are created by Wix, they're stunning and incredibly beautiful and professional.

I think Wix's website building platform will suit photographers, designers, fashion or business websites very well. If your website is graphic heavy in which images represent important messages to your visitors, Wix could be ideal for you.

A drawback in using Wix’ Flash-based templates is that it is not optimal when it comes to SEO and it is not supported by Apple browsers. But you can always elect to use their HTML-based templates. This is a fantastic option Wix users can choose either a HTML or Flash-based design.

Wix's price points for their Premium Plans are higher. However, once you've had a chance to experience what Wix is capable of creating, it's well worth it. Wix’ Premium Plans offers you a 14-day risk-free trial period to test out their premium platform - this completely removes the financial risk from you.

Good customer support and you can always find solutions in their community forum which is superb.

Overall, Wix is unique as it is the ONLY website builder that allows you to choose to use a flash- based design or a HTML based design. Some websites built with Wix look incredibly beautiful – they looked as if the website owners spent thousands of dollars on hiring a professional web designer.

Review Conclusions – Weebly

If you are looking to build a business website or a personal website to showcase your hobbies or interests, Weebly is one of the easiest and most effective platform to use in order to accomplish your goal.

Feedback from Weebly users is that they are very satisfied with the Weebly website builder platform given it’s comprehensive website building tools, ease of use, at very affordable price (free for most people).

The purest Drag-and-Drop user interface there is in the market for a website builder, Weebly is very user friendly and intuitive to use.

You can test out Weebly for free. You only need an email address and the sign up process is less than 1 minute. They do not require any information besides an email address (you can even create a new email address to test out Weebly). No credit card information is needed at all.

Test out Weebly and see what you think! Why not, it’s free!

Review Conclusions – Jimdo

If you are looking for a platform that’s pretty easy to use and is e-commerce oriented, I would recommend testing Jimdo’s free program. Jimdo’s e-commerce function is easy to set up and allows you to monitor and track your inventory. The e-commerce function is available to free Jimdo users.

Jimdo Pro and Jimdo Business are very reasonably priced to start running your online businesses. I recommend testing out Jimdo’s free platform before committing to the paid programs. If you decide to upgrade, you still have the 30-day risk-free trial to test out Jimdo Pro or Jimdo Business further.

Even if you are not building a business website, Jimdo is a good candidate to try as it does have all the basic tools required to build a strong personal or corporate website.

Overall, Jimdo is a very strong website builder. It is very easy to use, their customer service and community forum is superb.
