DESCRIPTION

The data monitoring system testo Saveris measures the temperature and humidity values of sensitive goods and products in the environment, in processes and during transport. The easy-to-use measurement system delivers safety and savings in time and costs thanks to automated measurement data recording. In stationary operation, the transfer of the measurement data takes place via wireless and/or Ethernet connection to a base station. This documents and monitors all measurement data. If limit values are exceeded, a whole range of different alarm options, such as SMS/e-mail alarm or alarm relay is available. The data monitoring system testo Saveris measures the temperature and humidity values ofsensitive goods and products in the environment, in processes and during transport. If measurement parameters are documented during transport, the driver receives all necessary information and alarmsfrom a Cockpit Unit in the driver’s cabin. Documentation and monitoring takes place via wireless probes, the time-consuming installation of wired sensors in the truck is unnecessary. At the same time, the possibility of printing outmeasurement values at the handover of goods, using an infrared printer, also exists.

All data recorded, whether stationary or on the road, are centrally stored in a software. At the same time, Saverisallows the comprehensive analysis and evaluation of all recorded measurement data.

Overview of application areas

Monitoring of processes in the pharmaceutical industry

In the pharmaceutical industry, high demands are placed on therecording and monitoring of quality parameters. Constantdocumentation during the production, storage and transportation oftemperature-sensitive products such as medicines, blood products orcell cultures has long been considered an absolute “must”.

testo Saveris automates the central documentation of measurementdata as well as the safe monitoring of refrigerated and deep-freezerooms, incubators and climate cabinets. At the same time, the systemallows the uninterrupted recording of measurement data, even duringthe transport of temperature or humidity-critical products such asmedicaments or vaccines. This means testo Saveris offers the optimumcontrol of production and storage, via transport, up to delivery.

The comprehensive alarm management allows fast alarming if limitvalues are violated. Thanks to a combination of wireless and/orEthernet probes, the system is optimum for many different applicationsin the pharmaceutical industry. It goes without saying that the datamonitoring system testo Saveris meets the requirements of 21 CFRPart 11.

Monitoring of processes in research and development, laboratories and hospitals

Research and development areas as well as laboratories and hospitals are responsible for the recording ofambient and process data in order to monitor sensitive products or machines. However, the monitoring oftemperature and humidity-critical goods during transport is also crucial for a high standard of quality. testoSaveris carries out the central documentation of the measurement series, for stationary as well as fortransport applications.

testo Saveris thus guarantees the simple and secure monitoring of climate and process data in airconditioning chambers, refrigerators, drying chambers, test benches or blood banks. If critical values areto be monitored during transport, testo Saveris offers the optimum solution.

Monitoring of the building climate

When monitoring the building climate, stable ambient conditions areespecially necessary in museums and archives in order to protectsensitive and expensive objects. During transportation, valuablegoods must be constantly monitored.testo Saveris automates the central recording of all climate data,stationary as well as during transport.By issuing alarms when limit values are exceeded, testo Saverisprotects valuable inventory from undesired temperature or humidityinfluences at all times. The radio probe can be flexibly attached tolocations without the effort of routing cables.

Monitoring the foodstuff cooling chain

Compliance with predefined temperature values is a decisive factorfor quality in food production and is important for complying with legalhygiene standards. However, the decisive factor is the uninterruptedmonitoring of the cold chain during production, storage, and aboveall, during transport. Only this uninterrupted monitoring provides afinal guarantee that the quality and freshness of the products can becertified. testo Saveris automates not only the monitoring of theambient and production temperatures during production and storage,but also of defined temperature limit values during transport. Theinstallation of wireless probes in delivery vehicles makes thecomplicated wiring of the driver’s cabin unnecessary. Alarms areissued whenever the limit values are exceeded.

The measurement data from stationary and transport applications aresaved centrally in a database and are accessible at any time. Allmeasurement values are under control! testo Saveris conforms to theEN 12830 standard.

Monitoring in production, transport and storage inindustry

In industry, a number of quality data must be recorded andmonitored in the production, storage and transport of products.testo Saveris automates the documentation of these data andalarms when limit values are exceeded. Products and processesare thus guaranteed at a high level of quality.

testo Saveris is ideal for use in the monitoring and documentationof ambient and temperature data in production areas, storerooms,refrigerators and climate cabinets. At the same time, testo Saverisallows the uninterrupted recording of measurement parametersduring the transport of sensitive products. The most variedapplications, stationary as well as in transport, are optimallycovered by testo Saveris radio probes and/or Ethernet probes.

Through the connection of a converterto an Ethernet jack, the signal of a radioprobe can be converted into an Ether-net signal. This combines the flexibleconnection of the radio probe with theuse of the existing Ethernet even overlong transmission paths.

The two versions of the analog coupler (wireless / Ethernet) allow theinclusion of other measurement parameters into the testo Saveris mo-nitoring system, by integrating all measurement transmitters withstandarized current/voltage interfaces, e. g. 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V.

The radio link can be improved orlengthened in poor structural conditi-ons by using a router. Several routerscan of course be used in the testo Sa-veris system. At the same time, theserial switching of up to 3 routersV 2.0 offers highest flexibility in the wi-reless range.

testo SaverisTM analog coupler

The two versions of the analog coupler (wireless / Ethernet) allow theinclusion of other measurement parameters into the testo Saveris mo-nitoring system, by integrating all measurement transmitters withstandarized current/voltage interfaces, e. g. 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V.

The base is the heart of testo Saverisand can save 40,000 readings permeasurement channel independentlyof the PC. This corresponds to aroundone year of memory capacity at ameasuring rate of 15 minutes. Thesystem data and alarms are visible viathe display of the Saveris base.

testo SaverisTM extender

By connecting a Saveris Extender, thewireless signal of a transport probe isconverted into an Ethernet signal. Thedata transfer from wireless probe toExtender takes place automaticallywhen sufficient wireless connection ispresent.

testo SaverisTM Cockpit Unit

The Saveris Cockpit Unit displays allmeasurement values to the driver un-interruptedly during transport. If limitvalues are violated, the driver is imme-diately warned. Alternatively, the com-plete data recording can be printedout at the handover site of the goodsusing the Testo printer on the CockpitUnit.

testo SaverisTM Ethernet probe

In addition to the radio probes, probescan be used that are directly con-nected to the Ethernet. The existingLAN infrastructure can be usedthrough this. This allows the datatransfer from the probe to the base,even over long distances.

testo SaverisTM software

The testo Saveris software offers simple operation and anintuitive user interface. The Saveris software is available inthree different versions: as the basic version SBE (SmallBusiness Edition), the PROF (Professional) software versionwith diverse additional options, or as the CFR version. TheCFR software fulfils the requirements of the FDA’s 21 CFRPart 11 and is thus validatable.

· Connect Saveris base to mains. The probes can now belogged on at the base: They are switched on in series andautomatically identified by the base.

· The Saveris base is connected to the PC via USB or Ethernet.The software is installed on the PC with help from theinstallation wizard.

· The system is ready for configuration: Probe name, limitvalues, measuring cycles and alarms can be adapted to theindividual measuring tasks.

· The measurement data can always be shown as a graphic ortable.

· Various probes can be compiled into groups. Logical units bymeasurement task are thus formed.

· The measurement data view over days, weeks or months isfreely definable. The integrated calendar offers practicalassistance here.

· Form and time of the reporting are predefined once.

· The creation and saving of reports as a PDF file now takesplace automatically in accordance with the set conditions. Thefiles are therefore ready to be printed at any time.

The PROF (Professional) software version offers interesting additionalfunctions beyond the attractive standard functions of the basic version SBE,e.g.:

· Client-server concept: The measurement data can be monitored byvarious PCs integrated into the network.

· Photographs of machines or rooms can be saved as a picture. Therespective measurement values are shown directly at the position of theprobe in the room or at the machine in these. The link between thelocation and the measurement value is thus very easily visualized (fig. 4).

· A comprehensive alarm management offers the option of alarming morethan two people at the same time or in succession. Depending on theday of the week or the time, it is possible to choose whether the alarm isgiven as an e-mail or an SMS.

· Tour planning with calendar management allows a clear presentation ofplanned and completed transports.

The radio link can be improved or lengthened in poor structural conditions by using a router. Several routers can of course be used in thetesto Saveris system. At the same time, the serial switching of up to 3 routers V 2.0 offers highest flexibility in the wireless range.

The AA alkali manganese mignon batteries (0515 0414) are contained in this ordering data (excepting analog coupler). Saveris probes are delivered with a calibration protocol of the works adjustment data.Calibration certificates must be ordered separately.

All testo Saveris probes are of course adjusted in the factory, as confirmedby an adjustment report. You can perform further calibrations oradjustments either yourself on site, via a service provider or in a calibrationlaboratory. The separate Saveris adjustment software is available for this.After successful adjustment, the current adjustment data is stored in theprobe. At the same time, the adjustment software and the Saverissoftware accept this data so that the adjustment histories are available.

Radio and Ethernet probes are connected to a cable via the serviceinterface for adjustment.

If you do not wish to perform your own calibration, Testo is available as aservice provider.
