3D Spotlight:

Global Network

Helps Children in

Need

A global community known as e- NABLE, is using 3D printing to

produce 3D arms and printed hands for children in need for free. Yes, you

read that correctly -free.

The e-NABLE Community is a group of people from all over the world who

have chosen to come together and “Give The World A Helping Hand.”

The community began with just 100 members and has since grown to over

7000 members in 45 countries.

Even more incredible - the community has produced nearly

2000 3D printed hands for people all over the world.

Started by husband and wife, Jennifer and Ivan Owen, e-NABLE

began after the couple was contacted after posting a youtube video of a

custom prosthetic creation used from a convention.

From their many people including a carpenter from South Africa who had lost a finger, a mother with a

child who was born without fingers on his right hand, and much more.

In January 2103, after co-creating the designs, the couple then released the files as open- source, so that they

would be accessible to any and everyone who knows of someone or is

in need of a 3D printed hand.
