10 RULES TO USE IMPACT DRILLS LONGER AND CHEAPER

10 RULES…

Rule #1

In continuous use, leave your drill from time to time running at maximal speed without load. In this manner, the motor is cooled better and its lifespan is increased.

10 RULES…

Rule #2

Regularly clean and lubricate the drill chuck. An efficient way to do it is by leaving the chuck for a while in a can filled with diesel fuel.

10 RULES…

Rule #3

Regularly blow the dust off the switches and clean them using ethanol.

10 RULES…

Rule #4

If you meet troubles in smooth change of working modes (drilling and impact drilling), turn manually the chuck several times left wise and right wise.

10 RULES…

Rule #5

Apply moderate pressure on the handle while you are drilling. If there is no progress into the work piece, the drill bit is probably dull or unsuitable for the material.

10 RULES…

Rule #6

Avoid driving large diameter screws into metal unless the drill has torque limitation setting.

10 RULES…

Rule #7

If you consider using a drill also as a mixer (only for paints or low viscosity materials in limited quantity), select more powerful model (at least 650W) with two speeds. Mixing is done on the first gear at speed limited to approx. 800 rpm.

10 RULES…

Rule #8

If you consider using a drill with core bits in masonry (for switches, sockets, boxes, etc), select high power model (1000W or above) with safety clutch.

10 RULES…

Rule #9

If you consider using a drill at a stand for precise holes, a model with constant electronics will ensure better results.

10 RULES…

Rule #10

If you drill through sliding surface (for instance tiles), stick in advance an adhesive paper on the spot where you wish to drill. In this way, the drill bit won’t slip reducing the risk of both damages and injuries.
