Be Opinionated

A  product  without  opinion has  no  character,  and  can  easily  be  replaced.  I  believe  that  many  companies who  focused  on  utility  &  scale  first,  are  now  the  ones  in  a  deep  midlife  crisis searching  for  their  soul  and  fighting  against  their  slow  death  to irrelevance.

Experience  design  is  the  design  of  anything,  independent  of  medium,  or  across  media,  with  human  experience  as  an  explicit  outcome,  and  human  engagement  as  an  explicit  goal.

A Definition of UX Design User  Experience  Design  is  the  design  of:

• The Concept  Model: how  to  think  about  the  product  or  system’s  organization  and  use.

• Interaction  Design:  how  the  product  or  system  behaves  including  feedback  systems.

• Information  Architecture:  how  data  is  ordered  and  expressed  as  information  to  users.

• User  Interface  (UI):  how  the  user  accesses  all  the  glory  listed  out  above,  including  affordances  such  as  buttons  and  dropdowns.

If  UX  is  the  experience  that  a  user  has  while  interacting  with  your  product,  then  UX  Design  is,  by  definition,  the  process  by  which  we  determine  what  that  experience  will  be. ~  Laura  Klein

A Technique forProducing Ideas

https://www.brainpickings.org/2012/05/04/a-‐technique-‐for-‐producing-‐ideas-‐young/

Method1:  Gather  raw  material  (depth  +  breadth)

2:  Digest  the  raw  material

3:  Unconscious  processing  (let  it  go)4:  The  “a-‐ha”  moment

5:  Test  the  idea

PrinciplesAn  idea  is  nothing  more  nor  less  than  a  new  combination  of  old  elements.  The  work  is  to  see  relationships  and  bring  old  elements  into  new  combinations.
