Treatment for My Magazine

Target Readership

• My target readership is females aged 16-21 but may be read by a slighter younger audience of 14 if they choose.

• The magazine will be based on Mainstream Chart Music but will contain articles on fashion, beauty and gossip within that genre. This is why the target audience is mainly females.

• I think this target audience will want to read about the lives of the artists within this particular genre that they are interested in.

Form And Style• The magazine will be A4 and very

colourful and bright so that it is eye catching to the target audience when on the shelf with many other magazines.

• They will always be an artist (mostly female) on the front cover with a strapline of their story within the magazine to entice the reader.

• The feel of the magazine will be glamorous yet young with ‘exclusive’ and exciting articles.

• There will be bold and bright font to keep the magazine busy.

• The magazine will be priced at £1.50 so that it is affordable for it’s target audience and will hopefully sell more at the cheaper price so there will be profit made.

Potential Advertisers• There will be many different brands

advertising.

• All of them will be relevant to the target audience of females.

• Also, there will be brands of an appropriate price range as this magazine is affordable for the students or the higher end of my target audience who are just starting work who may not have a lot of money to spend on products.

• There will be companies such as New Look, Clearasil, Max Factor, Tresemmé, H Samuel, Celeb’s Perfumes, etc.

Themes And Typical Features

• The magazine will include articles on fashions from the artists, gossip about their lives and different beauty tips on what the artists use.

• There will also be interviews and photo shoots with the artists.

• The magazine will include competitions to win various experiences, vouchers etc.

• There will be information on tour dates and news on the success and falls of different artists.

• There will be the updated Chart List in every issue.

• Interactive pages will be included where people can write in about their opinions on different styles, videos, tours etc.

Editorial Team

• The editorial team will be made up mainly of females who are early to mid twenties so they can relate to the audience and will know what they are trying to achieve.

• Some of the articles will be made up mainly of contributions from the readers.

• There will also be some young males within the team. The aim will be to use male apprentices who can put forward fresh and new ideas to keep the magazine interesting and exciting.
