In general, the prototype did bring come joy and happiness to the dementia elderly as expected.

The elderly loved to keep trying and interacting with different behaviors of the installation.

They loved to see the glowing and flowing light effects and to hear the curious water drop sounds after they had touched the lights.

The experts comments it as “ pleasant; the elderly love it; they are not bored anymore in the corridor; this provides with minutes of escape”.

Getting the attention of the public is usually a challenging

task especially when the installation is surrounded by

crowded and busy elements in an open space, such as

buildings, lights, plants and busy people. Dividing the space

of the interactive public art installation into foreground,

mid-ground and background could help get attention from

people in noisy and distracting surroundings.
