Things You Need to Know From your Jeweler

Just like many people have a dress designer and hair dresser, they also usually have a jeweler. The relationship is developed over many years and revolves around trust and loyalty. A jeweler is very important for female, he or she must have been part of most of their important moments, from their wedding, to their first child, to their 5th wedding anniversary. The more you know from your jeweler, the better jewelry or service you may get. Here I will introduce a few things you need to know from your jeweler.

Firstly, you need to know some basic knowledge about fine jewelry. Jewelers have an extensive knowledge of their craft and are more than happy to share this information with you. You don’t need to know every little detail, but being able to understand basic jewelry and diamond lingo will help you be able to articulate what you are looking for. Fine jewelry is expensive so it's important to know some knowledge about fine jewelry. Secondly, you have to know fine jewelry is expensive. First, people always tend to buy cheaper jewelry to save money, but fine jewelry couldn’t be so expensive. Second, it's important to set a realistic budget for your expectations before you are ready to purchase. There are different levels of jewelry for every budget, but you can't expect to get top quality stones and metals for a low quality budget. Talk to your jeweler about different options in your price range.Thirdly, keep fine jewelry etiquette. Jewelers are people who cherish the relationships they build with their customers, but at the end of the day, they run a business. It's one thing to bring in a fine jewelry item you purchased from somewhere else and ask your jeweler's opinion. It's another thing to continually bring in items you have purchased from other places and ask if you have been ripped off. Generally this will irritate your jeweler, because oftentimes they have the same exact item in their case for the same price or less. Show your jeweler loyalty, and

they are sure to do everything they can to get you the best deal.

Finally, you have to know fine jewelry isn’t indestructible. Similar to cars, jewelry is a wear item. Fine jewelry requires occasional checkups, cleanings, and maintenance. Most jewelers will professionally clean and inspect your items you've purchased from them for free. Many also offer warranties on their items. However, don't expect to be able to wash dishes or garden in your rings without the potential for damage. Diamonds are the most durable of all the precious stones, but if you bang it at the right angle on a hard surface, it will crack. Don't rush into your jeweler and accuse them of selling you a defective ring when you just stepped on it. Sometimes a small stone will fall out for no apparent reason, which your jeweler should repaired. Jewelry insurance is available for other damage that is caused by hard wearing.
