Events Chairperson, Boston Chapter Director of Design & Construction, Luxury Brand Holdings
Tracy Zaslow, FRDI
A past president of the Boston Chapter and its current events chairperson. Zaslow is director of design & construction for Cranston, R.I.-based Luxury Brand Holdings. Professional member Tracy Zaslow exemplifies what a Retail Design Institute member should aspire to be, says Mare Weiss, RDI, president of the Boston Chapter. Tracy has been an “amazing supporter” of the Boston Chapter, Mare says, serving with energy and enthusiasm that is incomparable. “She never misses a meeting or an event!” Currently event chairperson of the Boston Chapter, Tracy has been elected Boston Chapter president for two terms, served as Boston’s chairman and was named Boston Chapter member of the Year in 2013. Tracy consistently promotes the Institute, notes Luanne Perry, FRDI. “She has made significant strides in increasing membership, membership participation and has created relevant programs for the Boston Chapter." Though she served as her Chapter's education chair from 2000-2006, Tracy goes beyond Boston by promoting the profession at the student level Luanne adds. Tracy has taught part time in the Industrial Design Department at the Rhode Island School of Design, her alma mater, for many years. With delight, the Institute bestows Fellow, its highest honor, on Tracy Zaslow, FRDI.

Vice President, Atlanta | Southeast Chapter Founder & President of Fuller Studios
Ken Fuller, FRDI
The Institute can thank Ken Fuller, RDI, for expanding the Institute’s Chapter network and personally touching the lives of countless design professionals and students. In nominating Ken for Fellow status, Paul Pizzini, FRDI, notes Ken worked closely with Sharon Lessard to establish the successful Minneapolis Chapter and continues to work with Charlotte to reignite its members. Chicago, Toronto and St. Louis have benefitted from Ken's mentorship, Paul explains. Atlanta Chapter President John Ermlich, RDI, adds that Ken’s support of the Institute includes not only his work as an Atlanta officer – he’s been elected president and vice president for two terms each and chairman – but on the International level serving two terms as vice president. Currently vice president of the Atlanta Chapter, Ken has also been education and professional growth chair. With pleasure the Institute bestows Fellow, its highest honor, on Ken Fuller, FRDI.

Carlos Aires, RDI, is recognized as ‘Member of the Year’ . Aires is Vice president of the Madrid | Barcelona Chapter. Aires is with Marketing-JAZZ, an award-winning design firm based in Madrid. Carlos Aires, a professional member since 2011, is the force behind the Institute’s newest outpost in Madrid | Barcelona. In fact, he is the founding father of the association’s fastest growing group earning full Chapter status last year Carlos also carried the Institute’s flag to the last GlobalShop trade fair in Dusseldorf by coordinating an impressive looking stand, ensuring the Institute truly had an international presence. Carlos’s company Marketing –JAZZ, based in Madrid, can be counted on the win honors in the Institute’s annual international design awards program. Treasurer, St. Louis Chapter Territory Manager, ISC Surfaces
Theresa Froidl
Theresa Froidl, Treasurer of the St. Louis Chapter is honored as Trade Member of the Year. Froidl is territory manager with ISC Surfaces, St. Louis. Theresa Froidl joined the Institute’s St. Louis Chapter in 2006 and quickly made a difference as a committee member, board member and officer -- notably St. Louis Chapter treasurer for many years. Theresa’s fellow board members enthusiastically nominated her for the honor, sending considerably more than the asked for documentation. In their glowing letters of recommendation, they cited her can-do and professional attitude that enabled the St. Louis chapter to keep growing while remaining on stable financial footing. Theresa’s organizational skills and extensive network enabled St. Louis to keep moving forward particularly in 2014 when the Chapter did not have a full board due to an officer on maternity leave and another relocated to a new job. Theresa stepped forward to organize several events and tapped past leaders to lend a hand. As an interior designer who found her way to the trade side of the retail design industry, Theresa can speak a universal design language that carefully balances the needs of both the practitioner and the resource supplier. For these contributions and long-standing commitment to the St. Louis Chapter and by extension to the entire Institute, Theresa Froidl is the 2014 Trade Member of the Year.
