Question 3What kind of media

institution might distribute your media product and

why?

For my target market, my media product would be distributed on shelves at shops such as HMV, food stores e.g. Tesco’s, Waterstone's and other supermarkets that most teenagers go to on a daily basis or can get easy access to magazines. My product would be placed next to similar existing products, such as NME, Kerrang, Q!, ect. making it easier for my audience to spot as it is places in the music category.

Because my target market is young, they spend most of their lives on technology! I would make my magazine available on websites/apps that could be downloaded onto phones and pads for my audience to buy, my magazine must promote and reach audiences through technology making it available for everyone. Also have a Facebook page, twitter account to make it more interactive and keep my audiences updated with the latest. Also gives the audience a chance to communicate with each other and myself.

Emap is a British media company, specialising in the production of magazines, founded in 1947. On 29 January 2008, Emap PLC completed the sale of its radio, television and consumer media businesses to German company Bauer. Bauer media group is a multinational media company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, which operates 16 countries worldwide, founded in 1875.Worldwide circulation of Bauer media groups magazine titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week.

For the distributors of my magazine, companies such as Emap/Bauer media group would be suitable to publish my magazine as they distribute many music magazines which relates to my target audience. They have worked for the top selling music magazines such as Q! And Kerrang, proving is had experience, so therefore the publish for my magazine will be successfully done and trusted. The disadvantage is that the company is based in Germany and not the UK, this might make it harder to meet with them and also expensive to ship.
