CAMERA

MANUAL MODE

Manual mode means a full manual control of Aperture and Shutter Speed. In this mode,

you can automatically set-up both the aperture and the shutter speed to any rate

you want. The camera allows you to fully take over the exposure controls. This mode is

normally used when the camera finds it hard to figure out the right exposure in extreme lighting problems. For example, if you are photographing an in a very bright area, the

camera might incorrectly guess the exposure and overexpose or underexpose the rest of the picture that you have taken. In that type

of situation, you can set your camera to manual mode, then change the amount of

light in darker and brighter areas and overrule the exposure with your own settings.

Pros of using manual mode.• Your able to adjust the settings to how

you would like.• This could be for example adjusting the

lighting and make a dimmer background to make a picture stand

out.• It is cheap and also automatic to use.

Cons of using manual mode.• Its difficult to use.

• I your on armature and your using manual mode it would be difficult to

take good shots.

the environment.• It’s easy to use especially

for beginners.• You can adjust it to what is

Capturing Images

ViewfinderA viewfinder is a section of a

camera where the image captured by the lens and is

projected electronically onto a display. The image on this display is used to help aiming the camera

at the scene that is being photographed.

Pros of a Viewfinder• With most cameras it would

show 100% coverage.• You can shoot in bright

sunlight very well.

Cons of a Viewfinder• With some cameras it

can be slow.• You can’t be sure where

you focused the camera on.

Aperture

The aperture is basically the diaphragm of the lens of a camera. It controls how much light passes through into the camera to create a perfect clear picture which is not to dark or not to light.

The shutter is the main curtain of the camera lens. It protects the camera lens from getting damaged. It also allows light to pass through when taking a picture.

LIGHTINGFlashFlash is lighting that happens when taking a picture. It makes the picture look more brighter and clearer when taken. Also if you have a black background it makes the foreground stand out.

ColourThe importance of colour in photography is important because it can represent many different things. It can represent someone's feelings and many other things. When taking a picture you take it in colour but a long time ago that is not how it worked. When taking a picture now you can choose whether to pick colour or not.
