NETWORK RESET RETHINKING THE CHICAGO EMERALD NECKLACE OUR VISION Our vision is to create a wonderful, vibrant and social infrastructure along the necklace with thousands of different and intense places. The project develops a series of interven- ons along the park system, especially in two north-south strips indoor, devices and architectural events that foster new connec- ons between the public and private realms and serve to encourage public awareness and parcipaon through new programs. URBAN NETWORK STRATEGY This link support city wants to be a machine includ- ing an elongated plaorm for collecve expression and pro- moon of projects: -Transit Network – improve and design a safe transporta- on system (monorail-podcar) that encourages walking, biking and mass transit and connects residenal, commer- cial and retail areas; -Mixed-use towards an implementaon of intense and pro- grammac neighborhoods and areas of higher concentra- on of diversity throughout the city, in coordinaon with public transport accessibility. -Charged Green – integrate green space and producve landscapes throughout it, providing accessible and pleasant public places, as well as on-site water filtraon; -Energy – provide a clean, reliable energy network through upgraded infrastructure, distributed power generaon and on-site renewable; -Community – foster a safe, healthy and integrated community that embodies the aspiraons of both current and future residents, -Leadership – regenerate communies through innovave collaboraons, partnerships and other inclusive strategies for governance, management, job training and employment in the acvies of leading and serving the community. OBJECTIVES. PARK ACTIONS The project aims to reconnect places and communies. We want to build on the strengths of the park system, trans- form percepons of the areas, encourage posive change and smulate investment. We want to celebrate the park system and boulevard and reveal its social, cultural and urban richness by enhancing historic buildings and spaces, and supporng acve social projects and events.
