Dining will occur at “the Lakehouse”, Calistoga’s private restaurant

Day 1- Silverado VineyardA Brief History Silverado got its name from an abandoned silver mine Diane Disney Miller and Ron Miller bought their first vineyard

in the 1970’s First winery was built in 1981 Silverado now owns around 300 acres of land in the Napa

valley region

Estates Vineyards

Mt.George -first grape plantings -deep gravelly soils due to

volcanic ash and rock Stags Leap - sloping gravelly soil and

lots of sun exposure - Red Wines Miller Ranch -soils are silty, cool and deep -known for “fruity, spicy”

whites

Firetree -light soils, sandstone and

shale - “well-structured”

Chardonnay’s Soda Creek -steep and cobbly soil -said to produce “rich and

spicy Sangiovese” -Silverado produces its own

oil, grown on olive trees which are native to the vineyard

Vineburg -new vineyard, has yet to

have it’s first crop

Day 2- St. Supery Vineyard

Brief History:• There are two St. Supery Vineyards -

Dollarhide and Rutherford (Winery).• In the 1980's, Skalli, a French family,

bought Dollarhide which was an old 1800's Horse ranch. 

• Over 500 acres of Bordeaux varieties are planted on the Dollarhide Ranch.

• The family also acquired Rutherford Vineyard which is the home of the winery. Over 35 acres of land are planted at this winery.

• Today there are more than 1500 acres of grapes planted at the St. Supery VIneyards.

St. Supery is well known for…

Sauvignon Blanc Cabernet Sauvignon Elu Virtu blends.

Dollarhide: Noble Bordeaux varieties

such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. 

Rutherford: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,

Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.

The Winery - Rutherford

2nd Floor Art Gallery: There is a Gallery to view on

the 2nd floor which showcases different art exhibits each month.

Tasting Rooms: Taste the St. Supery wines in

the Tasting Room or in the Divine Wine Room.

The Divine Wine Room focuses on the finest Estate wines and is open during the weekends.

Tastings in the Divine Wine Room range from $15-$25.

Sunday - See behind the scenes View the wine cellar and learn

about the winemaking process. Tour is every Sunday from

11am-12pm.

What Today Will Include

(If on a Sunday… can do the Behind the Scenes tour from 11am -12pm)

Visit the Tasting Room to taste the St. Supery Wines.

Make your way to the Winery to tour the 2nd floor Gallery.

Head out for a late lunch at the Rutherford Grill down the road.

Visit the Dollarhide Vineyards if you have time.

Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3- Robert Mondavi Winery

History: In 1966 Robert Mondavi set out to found the first major winery

built in the valley since prohibition.

Current Releases: Fume Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot,

Cabernet Sauvignon and Moscato d’Ora (Varietal Composition:100% Muscat Canelli)

Vineyards: The winegrowing team believes that great wine is a reflection of

its origin. The wines made express the terroir of the two vineyard properties that constitute their Napa Valley vineyard holdings.

Day 4- Clos Pegase Winery

History Jan Shrem dominated the Japanese publishing industry 1968- Jan sold his publishing company and moved to Europe Jan then enrolled into an enology program at the University of

Bordeaux 1983- Clos Pegase was founded in the Napa Valley by Jan Shrem

and his wife Mitsuko

Clos Pegase Culture Clos- French word for an enclosed vineyard or an estate winery,

where every wine is made from that vineyard's own grapes Pegase- French word for Pegasus Bacchus- Was god of vegetation and fertility until he was

promoted to god of wine Ganymedes- He is the cup-bearer for the gods and goddesses on

Mount Olympus

The Home Ranch Palisades Vineyard

• 90 acre vineyard • 40 acre vineyard

•In this sunny plain, the fruit ripens slowly, developing the complex notes of spice that distinguish their Cabernet Sauvignon

•The poor soil, dry and deeply drained, yields a meager but exquisitely concentrated crop of Cabernet Sauvignon, providing the fine aromatics and plummy ripe fruit of the Cabernet blends

Mitsuko's Vineyard

• 365 acre vineyard of the Carneros area

• This vineyard contains a diverse range of soil types, elevations and microclimates
