Hi everyone! I’m Carmen Chan,

A passionate human beingdedicated to give love, hoping to Build impactful designs one day.

In this course, I’ve realised that there’s no such thing as slacking behind. Only

perseverance and the burning desire to learn exist. If you see someone who’s

struggling to keep up, why don’t you lend a helping hand? Fnbe taught me that.

You stay together as a team.

One of the toughest projects we had in semester 1. Inorder to get the entire machine To work, we need toensure each contraption relates to one another, like anendless Chain reaction. But the fun part was that ourmachine could narrate a story – a special episode ofwhat’s happening in our very own mike’s favourite pizzafactory…

Do you find it weird that yourclient is a song (literally)? Anddo you find it even weirder thatyou have to design a façade basedon that particular song?

This project is all about patternmaking, to manipulate shapes, while at the same time reflectingon the beat and rhythm of thatsexy thing standing in the mirror.

Making a pattern seems easy. But nope. If you want to apply it to real life. You need to give it shape, meaning and the technique to make it powerful and memorable.

EmergeFrom The cocoon

Continuing with the MeghanTrainor Episode,We explored her lyrics andfound out that most of thewords speak confidence, that they talk aboutcoming out of yourinsecurities and embracingyourself. We focus our concept onthat and come out withcollums protruding froman exterior net frame.

Lego Display set//Client :

Wonder woman

Page 13: My Portfolio of FNBE Works

THIS PROJECT WAS TO DESIGN A TOY DISPLAY (IN THEFORM OF A CUBE) WHICH REFLECTS AND HOUSES MYFELLOW CLIENT – WONDER WOMAN.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PERFECT DESIGN, ONE HAS TOUNDERSTAND THE CLIENT ITSELF. SO HERE I WAS BACKTHEN, WATCHING COUNTLESS EPISODES & READING UPON THE STORY BEHIND THE CREATION OF OURFAVOURITE HEROIN.

The cube focuses on wonder woman’s strength,

coming out of impossible obstacles, with

her mentality.

THE IMPORTANCEOF MOCKUPSTO ME, MOCKUPS ARE REALLYUSEFUL WHEN IT COMES TO DESIGN.IT HELPS TEST TO SEE IF YOURMODEL WORKS, AND ALSO IT ISMUCH EASIER WHEN IT COMES TOEXPLAINING YOUR PROCESS. YOURCRITIC WILL UNDERSTAND YOURPROJECT EASILY.

OVERCOME

This project (individual ahem)really tested my ability in model& presentation board making.Nevertheless, I also learnt thatpresentation boards and modelsneed to speak at the sameemphasis, both are important.Models require goodworkmanship & obvious visuals sothat people can understand yourdesign. Whereas for yourpresentation boards, one has tohighlight the right line weightand the right features to bedisplayed, enhancing thereadability of the viewer.

Talking is cheap

Drawing is easy

But making it is

the real sh*t.
