A Coordinating Center team of staff, internsand volunteers based in Atlanta and NewYork manages the day-to-day work ofUSHRN. We are a team of thematic experts,organizers, education specialists, trainers,communications experts, and human rightsactivists. In 2012,Ejim Dike, formerly Directorof the Urban Justice Center Human RightsProgram, joined USHRN as its ExecutiveDirector, bringing with her a new vision andrenewed energy. A Board of Directorsgoverns USHRN made up of grassrootsactivists, long-time community organizers,and leading human rights experts.

CurrentlyUSHRNis madeup of more than 300 member and partnerorganizations working on multiple human rightsissues. USHRNremainsananchorof the domesticrightsmovementandsupportsa bold, broad-basedpeople-centeredhumanrightsmovement-one thatis led by people most directly impacted by rightsviolations; comprised primarily of grassrootsandcommunity basedgroups and individualsworkingcollectively and across issueareas;and highlightsthe humanrights concernsof the leastpopularandmost overlooked groups in our society includingpeopleliving inor nearpoverty,peoplecaughtup inthe system of mass incarceration,undocumentedimmigrants, poor single mothers, persons withdisabilities,and indigenouspeoples.• - ••

Sacajawea "Saki" Hall Is theMembershipCoordinator at the USHuman Rights Network. She alsoproduces the Network's podcasthighlighting humanrights IssuesIn theUnitedStates.Sakihasbeenanactivistjoumallst for 10 years and regularlyreports on humanrights Issues.

Advancing Human Rights

USHRN members gather at member meetings and regionalmeetings to network and collaborate on multiple human rightsissue areas. Annual member meetings provide opportunity formembers to inform USHRN'sprogram and advocacy work as wellas to review and inform our strategic direction. One to tworegional member meetings are also held each year, which focus onlocal and regional rights concerns and seek to link local advocacyefforts to national efforts.

On a biannual basis USHRN hosts a national human rightsconference, . • , that brings hundreds ofhuman rights and social justice activists, practitioners, andadvocates together to share experiences and success stories,identify areas for collaboration, and reflect on the state of the U.S.human rights movement, including identifying pressing issuesandcurrent challenges.
