Bio: I am a native Texan with a Graphic Design background who married a Pastry Chef. She studies Natural Organic local ingredients which made me aware of where food comes from. It totally changed the way I eat. This led me to design a Food App called "iDave" for the iPhone 4S. Designed with Siri in mind, "iDave" is a visual food app that features my favorite local cuisine. Bio: Margot Rochon first came to Austin, Texas on a scholastic field-trip as a sophomore of San Antonio's Burbank High School. By this time in her life, Margot had already visited many cities across the U.S.--from Washington D.C. to San Diego, California--but she immediately knew that there was just something different about Austin. This was, in fact, her first experience with love at first sight. Although she was uncertain what she wanted "to be" when she grew up, she was entirely convicted that it was going to start with enrollment at the University of Texas at Austin. In the fall of 2000, Margot (thrilled to be resettled in Austin at last!) enrolled at UT Austin where studied Radio, Television, and Film while living in the local co-ops. Following her tenure at UT, she worked for two years in live music video production for the now defunct Austin Music Network and currently works in Media Services for the local community college, ACC.

Having picked up a crayon to draw pictures before she could even spell her name, Margot has had a life-long love of all things art and has dabbled in several artistic mediums--in particular she enjoys life drawing, painting, and graphic design. Recently, her interests in art, technology, and the emergent landscape of social media in the digital age came to a crossroads with the opportunity to design a logo for the Austin chapter of Social Media Club (SMC). Having researched other SMC chapter logos, Margot decided to pursue a somewhat conservative aesthetic approach--one that did not stray far from the established logo aesthetic of most chapters, but that still captured iconic elements unique to the city she has called home since the dawn of the new millennium.

When not playing around with media and/or the web, Margot can be found walking her dog along Ladybird Lake (which she still thinks of as Town Lake) or munching on a Brushfire taco at Torchy's.

Bio: I've been a professional graphic designer for more than 10 years. In addition to working part-time for a small shipping and printing business in Round Rock, I also freelance as a graphic designer. I moved from New Orleans to Austin with my husband in mid 2011. Only a few years earlier I had made the big move to the USA from Australia to marry my husband. One of the chief reasons my husband and I moved to Austin is its great reputation for being so small-business friendly. That’s perfect for the small start-up publishing business we launched upon arrival (www.littlefrogpublishing.com). We have already taken advantage of many free or low-cost seminars, workshops, clubs (including the Social Media Club), and networking meet-ups. We love it here and we're enjoying the ride, wherever it takes us!

Bio: My name is Daniel Goodman. I've lived in Austin since 2000. I am a photojournalist turned graphic designer. I worked for Fox 7 News for 8 years before going back to school to make a career change. My interest is in web design and web content. I also have a passion for logo and branding campaign designs as well. I chose Austin as my home because of the challenging opportunities, the diverse culture of people, and the remarkable environment.

I'm the Director of the Texas Senate Committee on Business and Commerce, where I lead multiple technology initiatives (http://bandc.posterous.com/pages/technology-initatives), gave a presentation in June on Best Practices in Public Sector Social Media (http://tti.tamu.edu/conferences/traffic-safety12/program/) and spearheaded the project that won a 2012 Special Award for Government Transparency and Citizen Engagement from the Center for Digital Government (http://www.centerdigitalgov.com/survey/2580).

My photography has had a solo exhibition and a juried show, been featured on Texas.gov, and been used on multiple occasions under a Creative Commons license.
