There is so much natural light being absorbed into the building,

The light coming through the wall, has this big contrast within the whole church, the rays created by the light extends along the floor and the walls, which makes it brighter.

There crucifix cut-out in the wall, sets the attention on it, as there’s natural light coming through

Herzog and De Meuron

This building is meant to bring some sort of dynamic feel to the environment, and they will make use of the space for A train station, restaurants, bars, a public space.

The small cut outs in the roof, would transfer the sunlight through/ even though it’s like a big tent, the public would be able to feel the breeze, heat from outside.

Dominus Winery Architects: Herzog and De Meuron

The rocks create smaller rocky patterns on the floor, they are letting a little light get through but the contrast with the building itself seems to work well.
