Siding Installation TipsPresented by:
Hide the seams so they are not visible in the
areas where you spend most of the time.
Use a wider starter strip to keep bugs and
moisture out.
Cap the corner posts to keep pests out.
Keep panels tight by pulling up as you nail. This will prevent siding
from flying off.
Overlap top J-panels in order to channel the
water infiltration.
Use a vinyl siding saw blade to get clean
cuts.
Flash the bottom of windows to channel the flow of water.
Install longer panels first because they aren’t as easy to
adjust later.
Make sure to compensate for expansion and
contraction when you overlap siding.
Install kick-out flashing to channel
water runoff.
Crimping and caulking the bottom lip of the top
course will add extra security.
