How did you attract/address your audience?

Eye catchingI did many things to achieve an eye catching look. I used a colour scheme to make my magazine look visually appealing to the audience, this colour scheme acted as a uniform throughout my whole magazine. I wanted to keep the colours simple as I did not want to detract away from the photography. I wanted to showcase the powerful black and white photograph. I used a font called Arial Black for my bold mast head, this works well with the bold attitude the magazine is supposed to be portraying.

Layout I ensured that my magazine was simple and not over cluttered with pointless information and pictures. I used very few cover lines and positioned them at the edges to ensure my photograph was kept clear. I didn’t want to overbear the reader with too much information, as I thought this would put them off reading the magazine. I wanted the audience to understand the image I was trying to create with the style of photos. The models eye are gazing forward, this gives the impression she is making eye contact with the reader.

The Q magazine example is far to cluttered, which seems to draw attention away from the photograph of Lady Gaga

Price After conducting a survey on survey monkey I found out what the target audience were willing to pay for a music magazine. I found out the people were willing to pay between £2.00-£3.00 for a magazine. I came to the conclusion that £2.30 was a reasonable price to pay for Anarchy. Magazines such as NME cost around the same price.

Photography The leopard print coat would suggest that the model is wild and rebellious, this style of coat would usual be associated with the vintage style that people from the indie social group are familiar with. Anarchy magazine is all about rebellion, this fashion style would suggest that the artist is a bit of a bad girl.

The headphones and guitar that are used as props in these photographs carry the connotations of music . These were appropriate because after all it is a music magazine. These pictures also portray how music is a passion.
