real media products?real media products?MASTHEAD – This instantly allows the reader to identify name of the magazine as it is the biggest text on the page. Furthermore it has a rectangle around it to insert dominance.

DATE/BARCODE – This is conventional and displayed on every magazine.

COVER LINES – My cover lines are positioned to either the left or right side of the page and are also bold with language to attract the reader to find out more about the subject matter.

BACKGROUND – I have planned to make the background a faint gradient of two shades of grey. This contrasts the font and puts more emphasis on the main image.

FOOTER – This is usually on Pop magazines and based around a weekly/monthly chart.

MAIN COVERLINE – This gives more information about the image and what is to come in the magazine and for people with an interest in Michael Jackson. This also has two images above the main image which shows more.

MAIN IMAGE– This medium close-up is portraying one of Pop’s greatest artists ‘Michael Jackson’. This makes it easier for potential readers to associate what type of magazine this is, like many other pop magazines

FLASHER – I have used this style flasher as this represents the house style I have used and from my recent research flasher’s are very usual on Pop magazines.

RULE OF THIRDS – I have followed the typical conventions for rule of thirds.

LAYOUT – I have followed a similar layout style to the magazine NME, that I have studied in my research. This clearly shows the rule of thirds and splits into sections appropriately

MAIN IMAGE – This shows the reader a modern artist, as you can see fashion and music go hand in hand, with modern music.

SUB HEADING – Using bold sub heading splits the magazine into sections that are used by popular magazines such as NME.

BRIEF INFORMATION– Gives the reader and insight on what is to come in each section

SUBSCRIPTION – This encourages the reader to buy the magazine as this cheaper I have used a different colour to make this stand out on the page.

real media products?real media products?MAIN HEADING – My main heading challenged the conventions as I have used a bigger font and rotated to fit in the column. I thought this would stand out more compared the usually heading located at the top of the page.

COPY – My copy has been wrapped around the main image on the page and in the form of question answer.

SECOND IMAGE – The second image relates to what had an influence on the artists life, in this case a piano.

COLUMNS – I have used 4 columns including the main heading
