Ethnographic Observatory of Design and Social Innovation in Rio de Janeiro

To create an environment of observation, exhibition and dialogue about the transformations that have been happening in Rio de Janeiro’s urban spaces, inspiring the qualification of the debate upon the city future from the design point of view.

A graduation class has been realizing ethnographic incursions, capturing stories and images. From the observations, the main questions involved have been analyzed and using strategic design tools, different possibilities for the area future appears.

To communicate the ethnographic conclusions and understanding design as the strategic project though, it was the device to materialize the anthropologic analysis and to turn it into the proposal of interventions in the social urban space.
