abstract

!   This installation art integrates this reality by reciprocating the ideal in responding to the present socio- ecological status – a social sculptural form that corresponds to the said state of reality.

Statement of the problem

!   As Milan Kundera wrote, “the struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting”.

Theoretical Basis !   Swiss artist Thomas Hirschhorn among his works

operates the concept of “Presence and Production” especially the monument series where conviviality is an integral element.

!   This practice of producing meaning in the realm of social relations and dialogue, however, remind us Ivan Illich’s “Tools for Conviviality (1973)” where he defined individual freedom in relation to the Other as the realization of personal interdependence and intrinsic ethical value.

CONCLUDING STATEMENT !   The mobility of the author from representation to

reproduction let the vehicle of meaning shift towards the social realm – expanding the notion of art towards social transformation and affirmative life. This is what the author had learned during the whole experiential process of the installation. Meaning, the author understood that thefuture is not under the whims of the present anymore, i.e. neither utopia nor dystopia. With the singularities of future memories there is hope and that hope for the future is already happening now!
